Sixth Time's A Charm

I'm Shay, back to Spark for the sixth time. I do the same thing, time and time again: lose the weight then just go back to my old, lazy ways. Of course I know what is going to happen! Why do I continue to do this to myself? Because it's just 'easier' I guess?

I'm still in search of making it an entire year with seeing my goals through. Basically, getting to maintenance and sticking with it. And the thing is, I love to cook, and love to cook healthy! I also really do love running, ...

I'm still in search of making it an entire year with seeing my goals through. Basically, getting to maintenance and sticking with it. And the thing is, I love to cook, and love to cook healthy! I also really do love running, especially when it's outside in the summertime. I truly enjoy these things, and they're two of the most important components of this whole process.

So I'm back, admitting my failures again, restarting that weight ticker, yet again..each time my start weight a little higher than the year previous. It's ok. I'm thankful for a very forgiving body..but I do realize it won't always be this way. I'm about to turn 30, and I know that as we get older, weight is harder and harder to lose.

Here's to making this year MY year! The start of the permanent healthy, slimmer me!

My Goals:
Beat my original 5k time from two years ago - 27:40

Run the Warrior Dash in August

Comfortably be a size 6-8

Not stop my regimen once I reach my goal weight (like I always do). Instead, I need to create a realistic maintenance program of diet and exercise.

My Program:
Do as much home cooking and experimenting with different proteins and veggies as I can.

Do a minimum 45 minute workout everyday. No gym for me, I'll stick to my videos and running outdoors. I also use 5lb weights and a resistance band.

Other Information:
I enjoy writing in my free time, as well as being an avid reader and crossword puzzle-doer. I have a weakness for a good beer or glass of wine, working on keeping those consumed in moderation!

Hey, just stopped by to let you know that I made the cauliflower sauce. OMG! Why did I not know about this until now. I took some of the base sauce and added some parmesan and part skim mozzarella to make an alfredo/cheese sauce with some whole wheat linguine. My eight year old LOVED it and ate two helpings! Thanks so much for the idea.

Hey!!! Yes I had twin boys on January 9th, thank you. Now I am back to SP to try losing the rest of the baby weight and get my body back in shape for bikini season. Glad to see you're back doing the same.
