The lifestyle that works for me is basically the Paleo eating lifestyle . I have been a devotee of mark Sisson / primal blueprint /marks apple a day website for about 3 years . But really turned a corner a few months ago when I recently read "Paleoista " by Nell Stephenson . She was also on the Dr. Oz show in April , so catch the rerun this summer if you are interested .
I have tweeked the program a bit and have found what best works for me . I actually believe that all the programs out there work best when not taken at face value. Everyone is as different as a snowflake ! That is for sure ....

The biggest change I have noticed in the last few months from this way of eating is emotionally .I feel a sense of "happy "and lightness every day ! I don't mean I don't have bad days because I do ..it is just that evidently ... there IS something to getting all the proper nutrients into your body .I am convinced it changes your brain !
Also , I am a foodie . Love to eat and also love to cook. With this program I have found that I am able to so both with satisfaction !
I feel like I have the base now that I did not have before.

You know, It is a pretty awesome thing to be enjoying food tremendously AND losing your excess weight at the same time !

Healthy Mind , Brain , Body !

Zoey, I know your weather has been superb! I still am tracking it. Hopefully, Tony will get back to the West Coast....:) And as for the Emoticons, I've gone to each of those tabs, but never seem to find the cute ones that you and Pam find.....Therefore, my posts go mostly "naked"....HeeHee...... emoticon

You are so thoughtful.....The flipflops will fit well now as I managed to get into another fight with "the chair" and it won.....this time I managed to break at least one toe and maybe two....Anyway, shoes don't work very well right now!!!
Tony finished up in Anacortes last week and was off to Houston today. He goes to a class there and then on to Spring Valley, MN for a couple of months. Thank goodness, he and his wife have a strong marriage.....I love them both, dearly, and know how hard this is on them, but as they say.....it's a job and a good paying one, so.........
When he gets backs, he's thinking he may have work to do up and down the West Coast so that may bring him back to your neck of the woods again. He liked it there. Liked Anacortes too. Got use to the cold so maybe he won't suffer too much with this "polar vortex".....We certainly are getting challenged by a lot of weather anomalies.....the drought here is really tough and getting tougher.
I am managing to hold pretty steady on the weight, but this non-exercising for a couple of weeks in not good....:( Now that's my excuse....LOL! Always happy to see your name pop up on the games. I am thinking of moving on, but don't know where to go. Seems we've used up most of the creative 5 letter words..... emoticon BTW where do you get all your cute "emotions"? They aren't in the ones here......Wendi

Hi Zoey! Thanks for stopping by and commenting on my blog. I have to admit, that side trip was one of the several highpoints of my trip. It was a wonderful experience.

I've seen that the weather has changed drastically for you there since I left. It was wonderfully cool there, and tough to come back to heat and humidity here. We got a great break over the weekend with lots of sun, cooler temps, and lower humidity, but that's about to come to an end. I hope that the heat hasn't gotten too oppressive there.

Have a great week!

Hi again. Yes, I did go right through Vancouver, once on the way up to St. Helens, and once on the way back. Did you see me waving? :-)

The waterfalls in the Gorge were lovely. We had fun checking them all out. Unfortunately, Hood was as uncooperative as Mt. St. Helens while we were in the Gorge. We did actually get a quick glimpse of Hood, though, ironically, on the way back to the hotel in Portland coming back from Mt. St. Helen.

I flew out of Eugene last night, so I got to experience the Saturday market there. What a kick that was! Like a party in the streets combined farmers' market and a fair. I couldn't believe the gorgeous food for sale there: fish, meats, beautiful veggies and fruit of every variety, olive oils, condiments, chocolate, and even morels. Our little farmer's market here will never be the same again (sigh). I sampled some of food from one of the food trucks, too.

Other than the fact that the weather wasn't particularly cooperative, it was a great trip. I hope to get back again someday.
