Took over 20 years but I finally got it!!!

I've done every diet known to man. I was successful too. Unfortunately, I was a lazy lump and didn't exercise. So I would gain the weight back. I wouldn't listen when people would say that you need to diet and exercise together.

Well, now that I am in my 40's I thought it was time to make a permanent change. I needed to get healthy once and for all. I began watching what I eat and I became addicted to exercise. Shocker!!! I decided that it didn't matter whether I lost any ...

Well, now that I am in my 40's I thought it was time to make a permanent change. I needed to get healthy once and for all. I began watching what I eat and I became addicted to exercise. Shocker!!! I decided that it didn't matter whether I lost any weight, I just wanted to be healthy. I started my change a year and a half ago. Since then I've lost almost 50 pounds and my endurance is through the roof. Both of which were added bonuses. Still a work in progress which I expect to be from now on.

This is my life now. I am never going back to being unhealthy again. Yes, you can quote me on that!!!

My Goals:
My goal over the next year is to lose another 20 pounds. If I can reach this goal, I would love to get licensed as a zumba instructor or personal trainer for older active adults. I would love to work as a fitness instructor in a 55 and over community or maybe be a personal trainer for women over 40 who want to change their life.

My Program:
I am watching what I eat and trying to stick to a 1,500 calorie a day diet.

I am also trying to burn 2,500 calories a week.

I take a zumba class 4 times a week. I also lift weights or take a fit pump class 2 times a week.

Lastly, I am trying to drink 8 glasses of water a day. This goal is new to me and actually the hardest.

Personal Information:
My name is Tina and I live in Southeastern PA. But I was born and raised on the beach of Wildwood, NJ. I'm married with 2 children.

Hi Tina, So did you get the snow last night too?! I had to laugh - after this beautiful weekend that we had.... I even bought my first flower for the patio table (and forgot to bring it in last night). First time the deer didn't eat it immediately - instead the snow got it.

How did the baseball games go? Will your son come home for the summer? Hope you all are doing great!

Thanks for telling me about the writing, I hate when that happens. I always manage to do it. But when I try to leave myself a comment I can see it so it's obviously different some how. I will try to fix it, eek!! ooopsies!

Smartypants is right, missy.

My pureed vegetable soups, usually cauli or broccoli and always carrots and aromatics, which sometimes include a couple of celery stalks if they're around here, aren't always curried or coconut-milked.

The usual variation replaces the coconut milk with a can of skim evaporated. The curry powder, et al., are replaced with herbs of one's choosing.

If I bit the bullet and shared a recipe, you can do it. Being realistic, while some member recipes sound quite good, just as many are either ho-hum or downright appalling.
