I am beginning on this journey again, and have set some short term, and long term goals for now.
So now I'm sitting down and working on my goals. I thought about doing that in a notebook, but then it dawned on me this is what my Sparkpage is for. There goes that little bell again.
What do I want my life to be like?
What kinds of goals do I want to set and achieve?
What are my dreams?
Everyone has dreams whether or not they come true it's worth thinking about them though. I've always had a dream of buying the property around the lake, and the lake where we use to have our summer camp and make it into a private retreat. There were lots, of woods, and trails to climb there. We always had bears, deer, moose and other creatures of the wild.
The lake itself was clean with no runoff, or other polutions in it.
In my dreams I become a hard working writer and make all kinds of money for this. And yes my dreams can still come true, I just have to work a little harder on them.
I also now want a healthy body to enjoy all this hiking and swimming, and the skills, and know how to get there. In the past I've gone from 240 pounds to 200 pounds. Now I'm stuck at the 200 pounds so I would like to get to 130 pounds. That's a further 70 pound loss.
I also would like to get a well organized, and clean house. For now I'll have to settle for a well organized and clean apartment. I have a very cute apartment right now with a great deck, and lots of storage, plus access to a basement for further storage. The basement is finished, and theres no chance of flooding or animal problems.
My other life's dream is to find that perfect job, with the most wonderful company there is, and the best benefits. Although I've not come across these in my field of work yet (I work in the hotel business) I know theres one out there. They can't be all scumbags who don't care about their employees. I feel if that the employee puts in a hundred percent the company should give back a hundred percent. At least where I am now they do feed you lunch.
So my long term goals are:
go from 200 pounds to 130 pounds
achieve a great writing career
once again get into actively walking again everyday.
my medium goal is to loose 20 pounds by November 1
write 15 minutes a day every day
work up to 30 minutes of cardio every day.
My short term goals will be written in my daily blogs.
My long term goals for 2013 are going to be the same.
loosing 45 pounds by December of 2013. I want to be at my normal range this year. I will do this by counting calories, walking, walking walking, and drinking lots of water. I will also work on cutting out junk food from the majority of my days and only having it on very few days. I will eat more vegetables and fruits for snacks.
2013 will also be the year I get a job I'm comforatble in and that will support me. I heard rumors that my boss was leaving so maybe I won't have to leave the job I'm in. I love my job just not my boss right now.
2013 will be the year I reign in on uncontrolable spending. (That's mostly junk food) I don't need it, but I need to find something in life that will satisy me.
2013 will be the year that I finish writing my novel. Well I have two finished just not rewritten. I will also get my other stories rewritten into notebooks instead of several seperate pages.
2013 will be the year I read 150 books. It sounds like a lot, but last year I read over a hundred books. I need to get some of those to donations centers.
2013 will be the year I find something else to make me happy other then food. I think that's my big problem, and emotional eating I need to overcome.
Those are my long term goals, and each day, week, and month I'll blog about my short term goals. have a good year.
January 2014 update on longterm goals
Well last year was a bust for weight loss. I infact gained about 30 pounds which I have to loose now. I also lost my job, and moved to a new apartment. Almost the perfect place. I'm now on Disability which means I don't have to work 40 hours any more.
My long term goals for 2014 are finding a job close to home where I can work 3 4 or 6 hour days. Hopefully at the hospital, or even in Burlington

my medium goal is to loose %5 of my weight by March 21 (spring time)That will bring it down to 247 pounds.
