Being a Mom isn't easy

Monday, July 09, 2012

My 38 year old son has been going thru some horrible times. The person he was going to marry someday left taking their 2 boys. To explain what she has done to him over th last 11 years would take a long time to tell. But she ran him into dept big time, he has been spending time at home having no TV no computer nothing. I would be their for him if possible but am unable so we have been talking on the phone every night. Today he called and said he had taken sleeping pills. I ask how many and told him to call the hospital (iI live in another state) and I would call him back to make sure he did. I gave him a little time and when I tried to call him back several times no answer. So I call the police in his area to go and check on him. They never let me know what was going on so my boyfriend called the police back and he had in fact been taken to the hospital. So I called the hospital and they gave me a tiny bit of info. I learned he had been driking quite a bit, he had told me he was not drinking. I know I did the right thing and saved his life. But I'm afraid he will be very very angry with me, maybe not talk to me. I pray he does not lose his job over this. But his life is more important to me than his job. I don't even know if he still has pets and how they will be cared for. Plus his xgirlfriend has a key to the house and she could go in there and trash the place (a house I own). I'm writing this here for I have no friends to talk this over with. And I feel so bad about this that I can't be there and he is gong thru this alone. I hope and pray he comes to understand that I did this because I love hime with all my heart.

I'm reading your posts late as I answered your post about leaves and wax paper. Now I wonder how all this resolved for you, and also how it went after your heart attack. A friend, 72, she had a heart attack in May 2013, and now her heart went from 35% to now 58% so improving much, though still tired by afternoon. She had all new doctors as well, but the heart doc said come back in a year. She is on Medicare so that may have something to do with not many appointments. Took her off blood thinners as well. So she is happy. She said the test was embarrassing, for heart function with just a flimsy paper over her chest. Hope things are looking up for you.

You acted as a mother should. Can you find a way to go to him to help him through this bad time, or, get him to come to you? He still needs help it would seem. Will be praying that you will find solutions to your son's need and that you will have strength to help him through a bad time. emoticon

May

Sunday, May 27, 2012

This May has become one I will always remember. On the 3rd I had a heart attack. It landed me in the hospital for 2 and a half days. And next month I go in for a heart cath. My heart doctor is one I have no history with and that scares the living daylights out of me. Plus the fact I lost 3 members of my family in a hospital so there's that fear factor. And she is young, but I guess thats a good thing she knows all the new stuff. Still its so very scary. And I have been trying to change (life style change) proud of myself on that one. And I do try and pass on things to friends and family like eating getting up and move see a doctor ect. After all this life we have been given is a one shot deal.

Wow! A heart attack is a HUGE motivation for change, it's sad to get to that place... but don't give yourself a hard time... you are changing NOW!

Kind and healing thoughts headed your way. Take care of YOU, because you're worth it! emoticon

Surprise

Thursday, March 08, 2012

I had the nicest surprise today. I got on the scale and there it was. I had lost 10lbs. And all I did was change a few of my eating habits.I wanted to sing and dance and I still have the feeling that I'm grinning ear to ear.

Nice people are rare

Sunday, June 05, 2011

Had to share this.My son who lives in Michigan had an experience with a person from Iowa.My son had to purchase a generator, the area he and his future wife and their two children live in loses power a couple times a year. And when that happens you lose everything besides no power you have no water. After purchasing the generator he tried to put it in the trunk with no luck. When a older gentleman offered to put it the back of his truck and follow my son home. The man was true to his word and would except no money for gas. Its a shame stories like these never make the news. It sure did warm my heart.

I'm using the word rare as in gem. And yes there are wonderful people in many places. They have been in the right place at the right time. I think of them as angels emoticon

I would like to think this is a reflection of all Iowans since I have lived here most of my life. However, I have met wonderful people in many places. I think it is also the karma that surrounds your son that brought this goodness his way. I am willing to bet he is a great guy himself!

Well, I've lived in Iowa for many years and I've met hosts of wonderful people. Every time I've needed help, someone would help. I've tried to pass that helpfully caring spirit on!

Well, sending up prayers in general for all those "good samaritans" whose stories never make the news. You son was blessed, and may the blessing reflect back on the gentleman with the truck!

The ghost that wasn't there

Saturday, November 06, 2010

In July we moved into a a house that was built in 1890 by the founder of the town we now call home. At first it was peaceful and then it started to happen. At exactly 2;30am a sound that to me sounded like a music box began to play and it seemed to only be in our bedroom. When we moved the bed around it sounded like it was coming from the doorway and always at 2:30 am. One night I was not sleeping very well and when the music started, I jumped out of bed and hurried to where I thought the music was coming from, this time the computer room. Well I found our ghost. My boyfriends watch.A watch for people who have problems with seeing and it had been set for 2:30 and neither one of us knew it was.

We used to have a baby's toy that was battery operated and it would randomly "turn on." There must have been something short circuiting in the electronics, either that or it was possessed. LOL We eventually just threw it away because it would go off in the middle of the night.
Great blog!

I chased a ghost one night. Several nights later it turned out to be my new cell phone running out of power. You gotta watch those electronics.

That is hilarious! And so "normal" these days... I have a watch of my son's somewhere in the basement that goes off at 10 a.m. Of course I'm at work at that time, but if I take a day off for any reason... I'm here to notice it! I have yet to find it and reset it or turn the alarm off, but I do know what it is.
