100/10

Thursday, March 20, 2014

A friend on SP had started a 100 days challenge team.

I didn't join for a couple of reasons. I am having a hard time keeping up with what I want to do on SP with teams and friends and I figured I would have more people to interact with and more forums to get involved in. Also there wasn't a specific item I thought would help me. Sorry I can't for the life of my remember now what it was.

So I made up my own 100 day challenge and today is day nineteen.

I am writing a blog today because I actually have the time to do it.

I've been planning on writing one since I started the challenge and I'm just now getting to it.

See how things fall by the wayside.

So my challenge is to do just 10 minutes of fitness every day

I haven't missed a day and I'm ecstatic

Do the ten minutes multiply like bunnies? You are doing great in terms of your weight loss! Remember when we were all stuck at 161? LOL. (I haven't weighed myself, but my intuition, ahem tight pant, tells me I'm at 170.),

Your doing awesome! I see all your posts logging the 10mins a day (I noticed you often do more than the 10mins!!). It might not always seem like a lot, but 10mins x 7 days a week is 70mins a week... that's 70 mins more than majority of people do a week! Plus... you usually do more than the 10mins... way to go!!

emoticon Keep it up, you'll feel so proud when you hit that 100 days and you will have created a new healthy habit by then as well :)

What more can anyone ask for?

My boyfriend's brother's girlfriend (who also happens to be the BF's ex sister-in-law, same brother but long story) invited me to a wine tasting.
I have never been but always wanted to. I envisioned a relaxed cozy atmosphere with small groups mingling around but that wasn't even close to what is was. For one it was in a very large city about 60 miles away and it was a fund raiser for a nationwide, well known cause.

I watched people for a few minutes and then just wandered from table to table on the outskirts of the rooms, yes rooms. Upper and lower levels with I've no idea how many tables or people or vendors or merchants or wineries. I do have a book from the event, not a booklet but a book, so I could actually look if I really wanted to find an exact number. You can probably tell that I'm not going to do that. I didn't get a chance to visit more than two tables in the center areas. One because I liked the color of the guy's shirt (weird I know but it was purple) and the other because it was 'middle sister' which I am by the way.

Many or the high end wines I would never had tried any where else and local talent (meadery from town in southern part of the state) I was pleased with every single one of their mead offerings. Vendors had cupcakes (avoided) chocolate covered strawberries (ate two) eggplant something, salad, lobster thingy, steak tips and on and on. They served you very tiny servings, about one fork full, maybe two but they were all delicious. Try and track those though, go ahead I dare you!
So I drank too much which you probably surmised but I had a great time and would plan much differently if (who am I kidding, when) I do any other one. Less drinking and more planning is actually the only plan you need.
So me and the girlfriend/ex-wife are now pretty good friends and for any one wondering, she was the designated driver, door to door service even!

Wow! Sounds like a good time and glad you got to connect with another lady and have fun!

It's always a challenge to track when you eat out, so yah would be very challenging to track that.

I'm not sure if you watch How I Met Your Mother but there is a an episode when Lily and Marshall host their first wine tasting party in attempt to be cultured/ grown up and it's just not going well, they wanted to drink right away and another couple says no we have to wait 30 min for the tanins (sp?) and they reply freakin tanins. Anyway, your bottom pic of secrets to enjoying a good wine reminded me of that episode. lol.

Happy Weekend!

What a FANTASTIC event!!! I hope you used the book to circle the wines you liked. Sounds like you already had it figured out. I know after I wander around and even taste two or three I tend to completely forget what it is I had.

I think it's a great plan to repeat it next year!

BTW, the opening line reminded me of a line in the movie "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" which is what I thought you were writing!

I'm going to use instant gratification.

I will 'EARN' a gold star for each workout I complete.

I need something to get me moving.

An instant reward should help, just thinking about 'EARNING' a gold star makes me smile.

Here is the proof that I actually printed one out
