FALLING Head over heals for FALL!

Thursday, September 18, 2014

My favorite season is here i"m falling head over heals all over for it! Before anything could ruin my day I did the Coach Nicole's Boot Camp DVD to the last challenge. Not through the last one, ,.. to the last one. Get it? okay
My DH and I took our usual walking path today then I asked him if he knew where the shelf mushroom was. He lead me down the tree canopy path and there it was about 10' off the ground on a sugar maple tree's trunk. Then we continued down the path and up a steep hill, which I ran up, it seemed a little easier than last week when I ran up it when my DH was out cutting wood and gathering it with the 4-wheeler. I love the woods in the fall. The smells, and vegetation are beautiful! I saw two different varieties of ferns today. My favorite time of year to be out in nature. Fall bike rides are very cool too! Last weekend I flushed a deer by the side of the road, thankfully, it turned away from me! But I still love fall, the leaves are starting to change. emoticon Last week I saw puff ball mushrooms the size of basketballs, I didn't pick them but when I went back to take a pic they were gone! Last Tuesday my friend and I were coming back from a volunteer luncheon we saw another puff ball on the same hill as the ones I saw a couple days before, we stopped and I trudged through the thicket and plucked one of the mushrooms. We split it and both got about 10 cups of cubed puffball mushroom. I used it in chili, scrambled eggs, and mushroom gravy. It was great! This is the puff mushroom we plucked

Beautiful! I have some friends who know about mushrooms but I don't trust my own judgment about which ones are fit to eat. That baby looks delicious, though! Have a great week!

Wow! I've never seen one of these before! You obviously know which ones are OK to eat. I love that you are seeing the results of your activity - easier running up the hill - An NSV, for sure!!!

Falling Into My Goals

Thursday, August 28, 2014

emoticon Tomorrow is week 2 of the support group that I started. There was 4 of us last week. I handed out some recipes and a worksheet to track food and fitness. Tomorrow we are going to work on our goals. What a great way for us to stay motivated!
My goals for this fall:
Continue to track my food and fitness
Eat more veggies and not so much fruit. Because of sugar levels.
Stay active by scheduling my workouts and getting it done before 10 a.m.
Drink lots of water
No soda pop!
I'll think of some more tomorrow! emoticon

GOOD FOR YOU!!! Those are excellent goals, and I love that you have support! I would love to have some local friends to do that with, but so far none of my friends is interested. Or if they are, our schedules don't mesh.

Keep that Spark BURNING!!! emoticon

LOVE IT Alley,, i had stopped soda,, hmmmm a yr ago?? Right around then !! It's NEAT to be thristy and have water squench it,,, instead of something that's NOT good for me. I had read though on SPARKS that as long as you keep it to 2 glasses (8 ozs) a day of soda, its ot that "bad" for you ,,, so I went out and bought as suggested a diet brand,,, hmmm it's been in the fridge for a WEEK now,, suppose it'll stay that way til company comes.

LOVE these goLS GAL !! u can do it !!

Great goals! Sound a lot like my own. As of today I am 6 days Pepsi-free, which is a hard thing for me to do. I LOVE all that sugar (yeah, can't go with the diet, need to have all that sugar!) The last couple months I was drinking 2 44-ounce Pepsis almost every day. I'm going through some major withdrawal, but it's gotten easier.

You have an interesting SparkPage, and I have to ask, what is O.S.M.?
