Going Low Carb

I have been in so much pain lately. I have been having a hard time walking. I was having trouble even getting out of a chair. The pain in my hips and allover was awful. My daughter has been suggesting that I try low carb again. I did it about fifteen years ago and lost 60 pounds, pretty easily. I started it yesterday. Within the first twelve hours the pain in my hips started easing. This morning, after just one day, the pain has subsided enormously. I still have some, but I feel like I can move again. I did have some trouble sleeping. typically, when I start low carb I get insomnia for a little while. I also have a slight headache, which is normal in the first few days. Those two things are nothing in comparison to the pain I had been feeling. We'll see how it goes. I'm going to give it my best shot.

Trying to get myself back on track

I'm done avoiding what I need to be doing thanks to some encouragement from my daughter. I have been dealing with some stressful issues. First was dealing with going back to work after the summer off. It's very difficult making time to exercise when I come home so tired every day. I decided to go back to starting with ten minutes of treadmill just to get me going again. The other issue is that I have lost my hearing. Both of my eardrums ruptured. They have healed back over, but the ENT says it will most likely be another four to six weeks before I can hear normally again. I found that losing my hearing is very depressing. It is almost impossible to have a conversation with someone unless they are shouting at me which is very embarrassing. I just ordered a Pocketalker. That should help significantly. Thanks for all your support while I was away from here. I did gain some weight, fortunately, not as much as I thought. I obviously have not learned to deal with stress without stress eating.

    I am so sorry to read about your hearing loss, it is so devastating. My hearing seems to be deteriorating rapidly. I also keep having ear infections which causes pain almost constantly and is affecting my ability to chew (silver lining right?...no). I hope your hearing returns to normal.

Boy, trying to go from 260 to 259 just seems like an insurmountable challenge. I get close then gain a little. I've been at 260 for a while now. I go back to work next Monday after having the summer off. I'm hoping that helps.

    I know how you feel. I was planning on losing one pound a week but it seem like it takes at least two weeks to loose a pound. At least we are heading in the right direction! emoticon emoticon

Finally Ready Again

I have been out of sorts for a little bit over a week. I took some time to visit my daughter in Phoenix and shortly after I got home my son and his girlfriend came to visit. I went out to eat very frequently and really didn't get any\exercise in. Fortunately, I only gained a small amount. Time to get on track again.

Time to AutoCorrect

I did not have a good week food or exercise wise. I made a juice today that I called Empty the Fridge Juice. It's a combo of ten different fruits and vegetables. I watered it down with an equal amount of water. That will be my drink for a good part of the day. It should help my system get cleaned out a bit. It also helped get rid of a lot of fruit and vegetables.
