Bad Bad Carb Day!!

Friday, July 08, 2011

I started a new job ( sous chef ) and boy o boy are my eating habits paying for it. I really don't get a break to st down and properly eat a lunch or dinner, so when I feel hungry I am grabbing the first thing insight ( not good ). Most of the quickie items are fattening. Yesterday I had 2 servings ice cream, brownies, nature valley bars , not one but two. A few veggies. I am trying to fit in a proper diet. I don't leave until 10:00pm so my diet is off the chain. I have to figure out something. As long as I can balance my meals I am ok, but this eat on the run thing is throwing me off badly. Today I am going to do better. Fruits and veggies only. I can't wait ( as we know ) until I am famished to eat. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

I get into a lot of trouble, too, when I wait too long to eat. Surely a place that employs a sous chef will have some healthier options you can eat? If you're entitled to food, maybe you can just make some better choices, even though it could be harder to just grab them, except for pieces of fruit and such. I find I get into the most trouble when I'm low on protein. I'm sure you'll work it out with a little time.

Maybe try to bring your healthy foods with you? Keep them on hand in a little cooler bag...and grab that to munch....

On the road again!!

Saturday, July 02, 2011

I finally got back on the pavement again. After pulling my glute muscle, I found that when I tried to run on the pavement it would bother me alot. I started running on the treadmill because I found I would properly warm up. But " boring". That made me not go to the gym. Now that I love running so much, I had to figure out something. I put on some muscle relaxer and no matter how much I wanted to take off before the proper warm up I just wouldn't do it. And what a run. It was great! I will take my time and warm up and enjoy the run the way I did tonight!! Woohoo

Glad you are back running. I can not run, still working on walking.:) Even walking my gluts act up. I take a tennis ball and put it in a cover - sock or whatever and put it on the muscle where it hurts. The weight of my body on the ball works almost as well as a massage. When you live alone, you have to figure out a way.

Have a great holiday!!

Coming Back Around

Wednesday, June 29, 2011

I am doing a simple exercise plan and it is working so far, I just don't feel like stressing and putting myself under so much pressure to lose weight. I watch what I eat and exercise 3 times a week. I keep track of everything through spark. even my water intake. This should be enough. For now aleast!! I will keep all posted

This is the best way to do it. Make a couple changes and they will become good habits.

Awesome! I know it is so easy to take off fast but it is better to make small changes and keep at till it's just apart of who you are;) emoticon

Trying new things! oops

Friday, May 06, 2011

This past couple of weeks have been a very trying time for me. I tried new things that turned out to be not a good idea. They kept me stressed and upset constantly. I don't think I have been that stressed in sometime. I wasn't exercising, but I was maintaining my weight. Which was a good thing, because it made me feel like I wasn't as far away from what was good for me as I thought. I tried to bring someone back into my life that came with nothing but negative behavior, and I just couldn't be there anymore. I have changed my life to only include positive thoughts, actions and ideas. It was a scary moment for a minute, but my new training of self helped me hold on. I am back to exercising and as we all know, that is feeling good. I would rather be alone before having someone that will hinder my positive lifestyle change. Thank God for giving me the sense to know this!!! emoticonThis round I give myself a trophy!!

emoticon Amazing how many people always want to bring down the other person. Thank God you had the wisdom to recognize that and sent him on his way! I have found you have to answer first to God and then to the person you see in the mirror every morning. If anyone is doing harm to either of those relationships, you are much better not have an earthly partner. But we are truly never alone.

Keep sparking to better health and happiness.

Still Doing the Spark!!

Thursday, April 21, 2011

I have been alittle busy lately trying to keep my head over the bill collectors, but I have been keeping up with exercising a few days a week. The weight is going a pound at a time, which is still good. Went for a check up to have all my important numbers checked. All was good, Dr was amazed at the weight loss. 225 down to 197. Looking at the numbers I can say" wow" myself!! Woohoo! Cholesterol high. not good, but nothing that more working out can't cure!!Still don't like the cholesterol no. being high though. So, that I am working on with passion. I guess when I look at it, I have no complaints. ( Thank the Lord ). Well sparkers I hope all is well for all, and I will check in with my updates soon. Woohoo, keep up the awesome work you all are doing!. You are still my inspirations!!! emoticon emoticon

Wow, congrats on amazing your doctor! That must have felt great! I just watched a documentary yesterday called Fat Head (free on zulu.com) that suggested that high cholesterol doesn't cause heart disease - it's just a symptom of your body working to repair inflamed/damaged tissue - it's the inflamation that actually causes the heart disease. Interesting stuff...this documentary really turned everything I thought I knew upside down! Anyway, congrats again on getting your weight into the 100s - YAY!
