What a difference a day makes

Yesterday I was feeling really "blah" after weighing in at my highest weight in over a year. But with just one day of renewing my good habits, I lost three pounds! Now, I know I didn't really "lose three pounds" in one day, and I know the number on the scale is only one small part of our health. But I'm reminded of how much better my body feels when I eat light and healthy and drink lots of water. I even had dessert, but it was two small cookies, not six, LOL My late-night snack was the veggies left over from dinner. I did not go hungry all day. I need to remember this feeling.


Another Monday...

...another day of saying "this is the week I get back on track!". My weight is continuing to creep up; 8 pounds in the three months since I hit my lowest weight. Never did reach my goal weight yet. Mom gave me a new blender, and I'm enjoying my fresh strawberry smoothie for lunch. Here's hoping for a good re-boot week!

My "good deeds" today...went for a 15 mile run this morning, and...wait, do I really need to do more after that? OK, I also drank my 8 glasses of water (I keep a 2L jug in the fridge to keep track). I almost never drink enough.

Three weeks until my 30km (around 18 miles) race. I am feeling ready, despite the cold and snow holding me back from training to my full potential.

One year of weight maintenance

The month of March brings me to one full year of maintaining my weight at under 140 pounds, and being right in the middle of my healthy BMI range. I have yet to reach my goal of getting under 130 pounds, and I am starting to accept that I might never get there. I feel like I'm already leading a very healthy lifestyle, and I'm not interested in any magic pills or wraps or whatever else my facebook friends are trying to sell me, that might work temporarily but then the weight comes right back and then some. Eating well, exercising; that's my "magic secret" :)

1. Had a healthy breakfast (homemade muffin, an orange, black coffee)
2. Ran 3 miles
3. Surpassed FitBit goals
4. Did not eat pancakes (heck, I'm not even a Christian! I just love an excuse to eat pancakes!)
