I'm Still Moving (update)

Thursday, May 09, 2013

I have really kicked my workout in to high gear this month, but I have been really busy too. Quiting smoking isn't going as well as I would like, however, it is still being worked on. I have state board to get my managers license Tuesday so PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE, I have also had a hectic schedual at work. I will be blogging and tracking everything and socializing soon. I just wanted to give an update on my absence and why, and of course to let you know what I've been up to. Happy Sprking all!!!!

Picking up the Pieces

Tuesday, April 23, 2013

Well once again life got in the way of diet and exercise. I started my exercise up a few days ago, and tonight I got an ear full from the trainer at the gym. LOL Nice to know I'm missed. I am trying to pick up the pieces and pull myself together. I need to get diet and exercise in order before next month because I am going to attempt to quit smoking.
Momentum and motivation are all that I search for and May is going to be a really busy month for me and it starts with a haircut sale oh joy. LOL I love cutting hair, but I can't stand those haircut sales.. LOL EWveryone have a joyous and momentum filled week!!!

You should try '100 Days of Weight Loss.'

It's a book and a journal (you print out the journal from the website) and it works with ANY diet plan. It's basically a motivational tool to help you stay on track. I'm doing that in combination with Eat To Live by Dr. Joel Fuhrman and it's helpful.

Another thing you can try is to join a challenge (or just make on for yourself). I did a 12 week challenge with my friends. We wanted to see who could lose the biggest % of body weight. I also set myself a weight loss goal for those 12 weeks. I met my own personal goal AND I won the challenge. The competition and the set time frame helped keep me motivated. It wasn't forever or until I give up, it was 12 weeks.

Good luck on becoming a non-smoker. I quit 14 years ago after 30+ years of smoking.

If you want a healthy lifestyle you will need to keep those lungs No longer polluted.
i have looked in smokers lungs and they are not a pretty pink but a nasty sooty color. You are beautiful outside so please clean up your lungs whilst you are YOUNG enough to do it. emoticon emoticon emoticon

Fighting a Sinus Battle

Tuesday, March 05, 2013

So of course March rolls in right off the bat with a NASTY Sinus Infection. I have been taking tylenol sinus, but I think I am going to have to get some hard core Alieve D or Clariton D. I can't take the pressure any longer. I did make myself go to the gym this evening before the snow started rolling in and boy oh boy I felt great. The activity released the pressure and all of the other crud that comes with it. I could breathe and I am glad I enjoyed it cause now the pressure is back.

So at the gym:
1 mile on the treadmill 17:30
6.26 miles on the upright cycle 30:00
Back Extensions on the Roman Chair 2 sets 10 reps 6lb med ball
Overhead Press 2 sets 10 reps 50lbs
10 minutes of stretching

March Running Totals
77.3/1500 minutes
7.26/100 miles
still working on flexability for the back bend emoticon
Oh I also got new KSwiss Running Shoes and I love love them emoticon here I come!!!

Question????

Thursday, February 28, 2013

At my gym I joined the 100 mile club, and I am superstoaked!!! I am allowed to track the miles for the Elliptical, Arc Trainer, Cycle, Stairmaster, NuStep, Treadmill, Indoor Track, and Outdoor Track. I will only use the Arc Trainer, Elliptical, Tracks, Treadmill, and Cycles. The fitness tracker on here doesn't have the Elliptical (the Arc Trainer isn't listed anywhere I use Elliptical) listed in the mileage section. I want to track all of my miles on here to keep track so my questions is: Should I track the Elliptical miles under walking/running? I know I rambled a bit there, but the last thing I want to do is seem misleading and tracking something as something else drives my OCD crazy wild.

Tonight I did
Elliptical 1.27 miles, 15 minutes
Treadmill 1.35 miles, 25 minutes
Back Extensions on Roman Chair with 8lb Med Ball 2 sets 10 reps
Inversion Sit Ups 1 set 10 reps YOWZER!!!!!!! I Love Them!!!
I also had my Wellness tour with the personal trainer at my gym and so I did 1 set 5 reps each : Ab Crunch, Back Extension, Lateral Pull Down, Arm Curl, Arm Extension, Overhead Press, Leg Extension, Seated Leg Press, Chest Press, Fly, and last but not least the Leg Curl. Come to think of it I didn't even track those. LOL
Have a great Friday Spark friends!!!!
emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

March Goals are
1500 minutes
100 miles (running, walking, elliptical, arc trainer, and cycle)
My last goal is flexibility I aim to be able to do emoticon by the end of the month. I already do yoga and I start pilates Wednesday!!! I WILL do it!!!

wow wee your doing soooo great on your exercise.

I'm not sure how you track miles i just track minutes

I would be more inclined to just record my mileage in the notes section and record as the exercise you did, but that wouldn't work out to a running tally for you. Do whatever you feel works best!

On the Fitness Road Again....

Monday, February 25, 2013

Happy tired me. I went to work at 12, left at 6, and hit the gym on my way home. I had a pretty darn good workout too, although, I can never find what I do on the fitness track and have to improvise. LOL

10 Inversion sit ups ( a week ago I could barely get one in)
50 squats
25 inner thigh squats (feet turned out)
Ab Crunch Machine 50 lbs,50 reps; 62.5 lbs, 30 reps; 75 lbs, 10 reps; 100 lbs, 10 reps
Back Extension Machine 50 lbs, 20 reps; 70 lbs, 30 reps
Treadmill .5 miles, 9:30 min, 18:54 min/mi (just wanted to get some mileage in today)

I love the rush I get from a good strong workout!!! I had to ask the guys at the gym if I got stuck on the inversion bench if they would get me unstuck...LOL Embarrasing that I might get stuck but satisfying that I didn't. I call that ACCOMPLISHMENT!!!!

I keep losing myself about the middle of the month, but I have managed to lose some weight. It might be coming off slower than usual, but I am deteremined to run and I know that it will come off in due time. My focus this time is more on the fitness and not the weight loss. Patience is a VIRTUE

Good job...keep at it, consistency is key!

On "odd workout" days like that, I just log "Aerobics, general, low impact"....should be close enough.

good job, stay strong!
