I have recently added 2 new parts to my plan for optimizing my health and fitness. First is Classical stretch a program I saw on PBS tried and ordered as a dvd series. It is a 25 minute show it gently increases flexibility with ballet / yoga poses using a physio therapy model. I think it is helping my knees and hips.
Second is an approach to eating using concepts presented by Dr ROsedale based on leptin research and neuro research by Dr david Perlmutter. Combining these two I am decreasing grains gluten and high glycemic foods and increasing healthy fats avocado, coconut, olive oil, wild caught fatty fish and decreasing grain raised red meat . Choosing free range eggs, and meats.
I will not be perfect at this but already my fasting sugar has dropped from 120s to mid 90s .
The next challenge will be finding a doctor to support this plan to get rid of metformin and statins
