Back from Vacation -Many changes happening

Sunday, April 21, 2013

I had a amazing time in London, Paris and Scotland. I lost a pound while away I ate well had some desserts but walked everywhere. I lost another 1.25 pounds this week. I am just 1.5 pounds from my goal weight. emoticon Upon return back to the realities of life, work, dead car batteries, $2000 in dental work. Thursday was my birthday emoticon to me. My sister took me to see Barry Manilow. I can't believe I am 47 years old I feel so more confident. I feel so much younger. I feel good in my clothes and I can now fit in all of my clothes in my closet, While in Europe I realized how many more things in my life I have yet to see and that my life is a unwritten book, I also realized I am ready to move forward from divorce and start to seek someone for my life. I now feel like I know who I am and what I have to offer someone else in a relationship. I am having difficulty getting over all the lack of sleep and jet lag. I am giving myself a week break from any serious working out. Back to Turbofire tomorrow. It was fabulous seeing London, Stonehenge, Paris, Edinburgh castle, Oxford, Stratford on the Avon. It was great spending time with my cousin and my niece. I am thankful to God for blessing me with this opportunity, I am forever changed.

Welcome home and I hope you had a very happy and awesome birthday! I love being 47, I feel like I am old enough to know more than when I was younger, but still young enough to recreate myself and do whatever I want to do!
I am so glad you enjoyed traveling in Europe and congrats on losing weight while doing it! We were in Paris last year so I know how much walking you do while there.
Have a wonderful year and I hope you get over the jetlag soon. That was always the toughest when returning from Europe! emoticon emoticon

Oh, I am so jealous. I haven't been in Europe in 8 years, and still have my entire German family there. Also, haven't been in France in many years, and had spent time and went to school in Lyon and Paris, during my youth. Lived and went to school in London and Cambridge for a while. Would love to return and see how things have changed. This has all happen before I ever decided to move to the U.S.
Happy to hear that you had a fabulous time, and are now looking into the future, with new-found confidence. Wishing you luck in reaching your goal.

London calling

Thursday, April 04, 2013

I will be leaving today for London Scotland and Paris. I am so blessed and excited to be going. I have never been out of North America. I am also nervous because I won't have my laptop and my meals and fitness won't be planned out like I usually do. I have worked so hard I hope to at least maintain my weight while I am gone. I post my progress and pics when I get back. emoticon emoticon

I hope you enjoy Europe. Even though some of the control may be out of your hands, you still control what goes from your plate to your mouth. Momments without planned activities maybe great times to plan for getting your exercise in.

Best Wishes. I have to say I am kind of jealous.

80 DAYS and counting

Thursday, March 21, 2013

Today is 80 days of exercising for at least 10 minutes a day. emoticon I haven't missed a day in 2013. I remember when working out for a 3x a week seemed overwhelming and now it is a daily way of life. I am on week 6 of Turbo Fire. emoticon I LOVE IT!!!! I have 7549 minutes so far this year. emoticon emoticon Now when I have a day when I feel like I don't want to do anything. I say it's only 10 minutes but it is always longer once I get started. Also after 80 days I don't want to end my streak.

I'm on Fire!!!!! , And I like It!!

Sunday, March 10, 2013

Turbo Fire that is. emoticon I just finished week 4 of Turbo Fire. I've noticed big changes in my body. I definitely have more muscle definition. Since I started SparkPeople 11/11/2012 My measurements are (36- 29.75 -39.75) emoticon I can't remember my hips being less than 40 inches ever and my waist less than 30 inches. I have lost 1 inch in my bust, 4.75 inches in my waist, 2.25 inches in my hips,1 inch in each thigh. 0.8 in my calf and 0.75 in each bicep. I have been reading Charlene Johnson's book PUSH emoticon and doing her 30 day challenge. which helps with goal setting in all aspects of your life. I had to write a priority statement on the first day. I 've shared it below. For most of my life I was a family caregiver ,nurse and a enabling wife of an alcoholic. I never cared for myself and I suffered in everyway because of it.
MY PRIORITY STATEMENT ------------------------------------------
"My number one priority is my health and well being. I want to create balance in all aspects of my life. I will honor this by setting boundaries with my time away from work. I plan to limit my time with any person or activity that is mindless ,toxic or stress producing. I will surround myself and seek out people and activities that give me strength, energy and joy. I will make sure eating well, exercise, proper sleep and prayer are a daily part of my life. Remembering they are needed to keep me focused and happy so I can be successful in all of my other roles and pursuits in my life. I will no longer let fear rule my decisions in life."

Oh No!!! I have become one of those people.

Sunday, February 24, 2013

I used to think that people who ate healthy and liked to exercise were some mutant breed with special genes that I would never have. But who knew I have become one of those people. I haven't missed a workout in 2013. I love working out, I look forward to it daily. With my newly discovered uplifiting sports bra, I realize I can jump, run do plyometrics and can do high intensity workouts.I can do things at soon to be 47 that I couldn't do in junior high. I started doing Turbo Fire and can't wait for my next workout, The more I challenge myself the more I discover I am capable of doing more than I ever thought. The only thing holding me back was ME and my negative self talk. Today I weighed in at 158.93 pounds, I haven't been below 160# in almost 5 years. As I continue on my journey of self discovery. I realized who you were in the past does not dictate who you will be today or can become tomorrow. You have the keys to change and shape your own destiny. I am becoming the person I always wished that I could be and it feels amazing. emoticon emoticon emoticon

I think I am a hybrid...half healthy and the other half still loves french fries!

And yes, the right sports bra makes all the difference. I used to think I couldn't run...it's downright painful with the wrong apparel! I was fortunate to find the right thing, in my size, online.

Congrats on making the choice to be healthy and fit! Wishing you continued success in your journey.
