Happy Wednesday :D Journey of Serving with DIabetes

Hello Everyone :D Its me again and hoping everyones having a wonderful Wednesday so far :D I am juts wanting to blog about some articles I read and go over them with my thoughts :D
First is about Nutrition :

Now I agree holidays can be a hard time for food and trying to be careful and watch yourself as theres all this good and tempting food out there. Now I am not saying deprive yourself but you should not go out of control with your diet all the time :D And partys and etc are hard when it comes to that. So I am all for the smaller plates to have smaller portions and also watching the high fat and creamy dips and etc :D Just don't need to have them all the time and look for the healthier version of whatever is there on the treat or guest food table at a party or etc. I know for me also Halloweens coming up and I find it soooo hard to be careful with chocolate and goodies and if its there its hard to say no you know? :D Hope this year and I will try to be better :D No chocolate Halloween treats or etc coming into the house for there to be temptation :D

Now my second article is on fitness I am all for any exercise that gets the heart rate and heart pumping for sure :D I love walking and dancing and kickboxing so they all get your heart pumping and going :D Hope you all agree. I walk a lot with my job and am on my feet my whole shift so I keep moving :D The cold weather is getting here and soon the weather wont be suitable for walking so I hope it all will be ok and ill find things to do at home or etc :D Keep you posted.

Well my blood sugars are still kind of high but I am looking after it and know it will be fine. Just need to get a better handle and control of my insulin and medications :D
And when I get paid next I plan on buying ingredients to make healthy recipes :D Keep you posted.

    That's my rule, if it's going to tempt me, I do NOT bring it in the house.

Before any kind of gathering, I am sure to have my water and at least a healthy snack so I'm not ravenous. I concentrate on the socializing vs. eating. Had 3, now 4 holiday seasons under my belt and still have to be mindful. Gets a bit easier as time goes on.

Hello everyone :D How is everyone doing? I am good. Well as most of you don't know I have started a new Job and well I am a waitress/dishwasher/cashier :D I like it and it keeps me busy and I feel like I stay active cause I am on my feet and walking so that's good. It can get a bit stressful when the restaurant gets busy and its demanding sometimes but you learn to deal with it my way of thinking is if you keep your head on straight and you just do your job youll be fine :D And the hours are not always the same which is good cause it gives you variety.

Now because I am a diabetic and have a job like this I carry snacks and make sure I have my breaks when I am suppose to and drink my water and I also take my insulin and blood meter to work with me to keep in check. Now either then all that what other suggestions would you have for me? Keep you all posted on how that all goes.

Ok so I was searching online on Sparkpeople and I am also interested in heart health so here is what I found with know your numbers:

BMI should be: 25 I am over by about 4 notches

Sodium Intake: 1500 well today I am at 1900 I think so far so that's not good.

Daily Exercise: 30 Mins well I work all day and am on my feet so I can do what I can do for exercise :D

Total Cholesterol: 200 All my cholesterol levels will be checked with my next blood test

Bad LDL Cholesterol:100 or lower

Good HDL Cholesterol:60 or higher

Vegetables and Fruits: 5 and more

Blood Pressure: 120/80 Will start checking it in the morning :D

Triglycerides:150 or lower

Waist Circumference:35 I am 38 or 39 so

Teaspoons of sugar: 6 I am at 7 teaspoons so far today I am converting militers to teaspoons.

No Smoking

Milligrams Of Cholesterol Daily: 300 I am doing good with this today.

Fasting blood glucose: 5.5 Mine hasn't been the greatest so far in the mornings and am trying to get them better. Keep you posted.

    Thank you Crazy Dog I am still trying to find a balance with how to keep my blood sugars in control and etc :D When I work more then 4 hours I take my blood meter and insulin so on my break I can keep up with it :D Ive been doing good. My blood sugars have to get better but I know they can :D

My insulin update :D

So I am going to today to pick up vials of insulin for my Clickstar pen instead of the insulin pens I have been using and hope that it works out better for me and is easier for me. Keep you posted. I want to get my miles in today so I am gonna go for a walk as its nice out today :D Keep you posted. Then I might either do a cardio video on here or bike ride. Keep you posted.

Any thoughts or opinions on this would be great :D

Day 1 Blog Entry for Sugar beaters journey to weight loss

Ok so I have been doing really good with my exercise next week I want to aim to get to 200 miles for this year. I will do my walking route everyday mostly everyday and if its not nice out I will do my work out at home.
My weight is good I was 149 back in April/May and last week I weighed in at 141 I want to get down to 130.
I have under 300 cals today to eat so I will try to keep in that range. And my carbs are ok today I have 45 carbs left.
I have been watching my sugars more now coming home from my diabetes team. And keeping up with my insulin also to keep my sugars under control. I have a method I use is blood sugar X carbs = (answer /15) and the answer for the dosages it gives me has worked out so far so. Keep you posted.
And I am gonna watch my salt intake also today.
So my goals this weekend and this week is:
- Keep cals under 300 today of whats left
-Watch carbs today even if I go over them
Its my stepdads birthday celebration so I know theres gonna be good food and etc so I am gonna have a good time but be careful you know?
- I will be careful with my diet all week
- I will try to walk 3 miles everyday and do my route most everyday next week :)
-I will try to drink 64 ounces of water a day
