In between graduation (December 20) and New Year's Day I ate pretty awfully. I got back on track, and have been on track since, but things aren't really working.

I have been eating well lately, but my scale keeps going up. Like, not even staying the same, but actually going up. It's really discouraging, even though I know that I should just keep eating well and exercise more and things will level out.

    Are you tracking your cals? I got back on track Jan 1st too, and have lost 8.2 since the 1st. I am doing lots of things NMW these days. Here are my dailys and commitments, maybe you can write your own!
Dailys NMW!
1. eat healthy bkfst
2. vitamins
3. spark daily (post and track)
4. exercise at least 30 min a day (even if it's just walking)
5. * Only F&V's after 8pm

Goals: (commitments to strive for)
Keep between 1000-1700 cals
post on one blog a day
No deep fried foods the first 100 days of 2014.

Hope this helps, remember too, muscle weighs as much as fat, so maybe you are trading one for the other??? Good luck!

October 1/Challenge blog

I'm participating in a fall challenge with one of the Sparkteams I belong to, and this week's challenge was to write a blog post about my goals.

I would like to make exercise a bigger part of my life. I have been doing well at eating better and keeping my emotional eating in check, but I would love to have exercise come that easy to me as well.

I would like to be kinder to myself.

I would like to manage my time better. I have a lot of schoolwork that I leave until the last minute and don't want to do that anymore.

I have a pair of size 14 jeans that I can button and zip up, but I would like to be able to actually wear them outside of the house by the time I graduate (December 20).

    Those sound like great goals. If you can zip up the size 14 pants now, I'm sure you'll be "officially" in them come December 20th with no problems! Best of luck :D

I can relate to the time management goal more than I can say. I wish I thought to add that to my list.

    These are excellent goals and I will be praying for you with them! I especially love your goal to be kinder to yourself as I have really worked on that myself. I know it is hard, but you can totally do it!

    Those are great goals. I also have made it a goal to be kinder to myself. Just remember that if you wouldn't say it to a friend, don't say it about yourself.

September 9/Rewards

I'm feeling a bit unmotivated lately, so I think I'm going to set some rewards that I can earn when I meet certain weight loss goals.

230: Relaxing at home spa night
220: Pedicure
210: $30 on makeup
200: Massage
190: Facial
180 (ultimate goal): $50 on makeup

I don't want to spend too much money, even though these goals won't be reached within like, a week of each other, so the pedicure, massage, and facial I will get at a beauty school, which is a lot less expensive.

    I like that you wrote down your rewards. I tried to reward myself once and then forgot what the rewards were so I ignored it. :/ I think it's super important to reward yourself for a job well-done so good for you! They sound like pretty great rewards, too!

I ate too much today. Knowingly.

I had a bagel and cream cheese for breakfast on my way to class this morning, which wasn't too bad. I had class all day, and didn't eat anything until I got home. I'm finally able to eat real food again after my tonsillitis, so I was excited to eat real food, and I went overboard. I was super hungry because I hadn't eaten between 10:30am and 6:30pm, so I went to Raising Cane's and got two combo orders. I'm not sure why. I regret it now, but there is nothing I can do. I'll just do better tomorrow!

My throat mostly feels better, but I'm still sick. I haven't eaten anything that requires chewing in a week, and I am so sick of soft foods! I'm still weak, mostly because I haven't been eating/drinking enough, but I can't get anything down and have no appetite. It's a vicious cycle.
