warmer weather ahead

Next week looks like we'll finally have spring here. The snow should melt and the sun will be out. I can't wait to get out and walk. I'm going to make myself go out every day for a walk. I need to get my body moving again. I just hope that my cold eases up on me so that I can enjoy the fresh air.

First time walking

I went for my first walk yesterday. I hadn't gone for a walk in about eleven months. I overestimated my ability. I planned on doing twenty minutes of walking but because of my body pain I ended up slowing down quite a bit and it turned into a thirty minute walk. I definitely need to buy new shoes. My ankles and calves were killing me. Hopefully tax return will come back soon and I can buy a really good pair of shoes.

Motivation

I've been struggling with my eating lately. It's a big change to cut out the unhealthy stuff, plus it takes more time to make a salad then it does to grab a chocolate muffin. Time is one thing I have in short supply with a new baby. My husband is being really supportive though. He sent me a wonderful e-mail yesterday saying he knew I could do it and how proud he was of me. And he wants to find to time to workout with me. His support helped motivate me again.
So this morning I tried a bollyfit workout I recorded on PVR. It was so much fun and it really got me sweating. I set another episode for recording. I can't wait for all the ice and snow to finally go away so I can get out for walks.

    One thing I do to help on time is I spend at least a couple hours either on Sat or Sun after grocery shopping, and I cut up my veggies. This way when I want to make a salad or have veggies as a snack, they're already prepared. If your hubby will watch the baby for a little while you do the prep work, it can help you save time during the week!

    I know what you mean about all the cold and snowy weather. It is hard to get out when it is so cold. I make all my salads on Sunday afternoon. Put them in tupperware cereal bowls and process my chix,veggies and cheese seperately and put them in small tupperware containers.. Every day for lunch, I get out my salad and add the fixings as I only have hour for lunch. This works really great. I have got myself in a Sunday routine to do this. Good luck...

Workout one

One day from the four weeks that was recommended by my doctor for weighting to exercise after c-section. I figured one day early wouldn't hurt. I've started recording workouts on this health channel we have. I tried the belly dancing workout today. It was fun and quite challenging seeing as I wasn't able to exercise through my entire pregnancy. It certainly got me sweating. It was nice to get moving again. It was also great that I was able to record it. It allowed me to fast forward through commercials so that I didn't have any downtime during the exercise. Tomorrow I'm going to try the bollyfit workout. I've always wanted to try bollyfit, it looks like a lot of fun. I'm also going to start walking on the spot in my house. Today I'll start with twenty minutes to wean myself back into the workouts. I really was looking forward to getting out for walks but a blizzard swept through our city last night so outdoor walking is postponed for the moment.

I had a rough day yesterday. It was so chaotic and there wasn't much healthy food in the house so I ate horribly. We're going shopping this morning and I'm going to stock the house with healthy snacks. Today's another busy day but at least my husband doesn't work today so I have some support. I'm hoping to be able to squeeze in a walk at some point today. The weather is beautiful. I hope it lasts.
