Change in Eating Habits!!

I don't eat the way I did when I first signed on!! I have changed to a lower carb whole wheat bread, 1 T of peanut butter and half of a banana for breakfst! I discovered after tracking what I was eating for about 3 days that I was eating 1200 calories or thereabouts, way too many carbs, and not enough fat or protein!! I was really surprised and started checking out what I wanted to eat and what it would "cost me" before I ate it!! I have lost a pound and a half since August 29. I'm still working on the picture - hopefully soon! Thanks to all who have sent encouraging stuff my way! emoticon

    That's exactly what I have learned tracking the food I eat. I agree!

At first, I didn't really want to do it because it is time consuming but once I learned that I could save my favorites, it has become faster. I am learning that I add up my carbs pretty fast too and not enough protein.

Thanks for sharing and reminding us that food tracking is great!

I would be happy to exchange/give/receive recipes that are healthy and low to moderate in calories. I eat simply. Breakfast is a piece of whole wheat toast with 1 1/2 Tablespoons of Peanut Butter (low salt) and a Banana along with a cup of coffee. Lunch is eaten out 4 days a week and sometimes 5 days a week. It varies from oatmeal with craisins and granola to Mexican food to a half sandwich with fruit or a cup of soup. Dinner is usually fish a couple of times per week, chicken one or two times a week, salads almost every day, and beef very rarely. I also like to make low fat muffins for a change at breakfast time or a quick snack - banana, applesauce and applebutter with cocoa and mini choclote chips, and I am about to try a new recipe for blueberry muffins. I love Greek Yogurt and sometimes use 1/4 cup of yogurt over 1/4 cup of cereal and add 1 tablespoon each of either cherries or craisins and slivered almonds. If I'm really in a hurry for a snack, I eat a peanut butter and oatmeal fiber bar. I need to start tracking my calories and will get out my calorie book and start doing that this week.
