4 months in and ready to make some chages

Thursday, July 17, 2014

New Mommy to twins. I thing my weight has finally settled and I look at my beautiful boys in photos with me and there is so much room for improvement. Pregnancy added 18inch (Yes 18 inches) to my waist. I am now up 4 inches and 27lbs. I still have 75lbs I would like to loose. I have a very realistic goal that it won't all fall off but 8 months might be doable to get back to where I was last July when we started the crazy adventure

The weight loss plummet

Tuesday, April 08, 2014

So I am in a weight loss plummet and not exactly sure where I will land. 34lbs in the past 22 days. A healthy plummet as giving birth to twins is probably the only healthy way to drop that much weight in less than a month. And I am still dropping. So curious about where I will land. Still very much in a transition adjustment stage.

So my new challenges
A: Getting enough sleep
B: Not using nursing as an excuse to eat more. Yes I need 800-1000 extra calories but they need to be healthy calories.
C: Easing into fitness. Getting back to walking and other activities.
D: Drinking enough water.
E: Weening off the convenience foods. I have done a ton of fast and easy and not healthy and well balanced.

Get to bed as early as you can! I know you have other kids to tend to as well but 8 hours of interrupted sleep is better than 5 hours of interrupted sleep. :)

I gained 65-70 lbs with my boys and lost 35 in the first month. I lost another 15-20 over the next couple of months...and then stopped. Eek! I also wasn't nursing which I know can help (and can sometime hinder) weight loss.

Congrats on the twins! Great goals. Health calories for nursing was not a goal I had during my first baby that I should have. Thanks for giving me one to add to a future list!

You have some pretty big challenges set up. And by the way, that first one -- you may have to wait another 18-20 yrs before that realistically happens. :-P

One More Week

Monday, March 10, 2014

Personally a huge accomplishment to make it to the one more week mark. 37 Weeks along with twins as of Yesterday. One more week and I am scheduled to deliver provided I don't go into labor this week. Full term twins seams like a huge deal when I see so many of my fellow moms of Multiples going really early.

March Goals ~ going to drop 20Lbs at least this month!

Saturday, March 01, 2014

OK I am so looking forward to dropping some weight this month. I have gained 43lbs since August. This gain was actually a goal for me to gain it. I have also gained 16 inches around my waist.
But March is the month. My surgery is scheduled for the 17th if I don't need it sooner. They are estimating that the boys are now 6lbs 11oz and 5lbs 11oz. 36 weeks (full term for twins) will be reached tomorrow so I am ready to meet my boys and then as things settle down start meeting my healthy lifestyle goals. So 12-15lbs of baby, two placentas and the water I have been retaining all gone by the end of the month. After a month to recover I am looking forward to starting back on my weight loss journey. Although I am more excited that our family will be complete.
16 More days.
