Still In Wonder

Tuesday, August 14, 2012

I've been with SparkPeople for over five years and it's changed my life....for the better. I've gone up and down a a little, but even when I've had to take time away to be there for my family, I've still applied what I've learned here on Spark! I ultimate goal was to reach 130 pounds this year. This morning I weighed in at 126. Amazing! How it happened? I'm not totally sure, but thru diligence and consistency. I feel amazing and I never dreamed I'd get into a size 4. Especially after seven children. ;)

Down a total of 32 pounds!

Wow! Five years! I've used SP on and off for 4 years but under a different screen name. I"m starting fresh and hunting down new friends and more motivation. I'm a homeschool mom of 2. I admire you hitting goal weight after 7 kids. Good job!

A day late, but still celebrating!!! :)

Yesterday marked five years with SparkPeople.....I can't believe it's been this long. And I'm still amazed at the results. I have to admit, I still bounce up and down a couple of pounds, but have been able to pretty much maintain my goal weight for over a year. I still run four times a week and our diet here is MUCH healthier. Right now my Rebekah is losing and is doing an incredible job thanks to Sparkteens!

I know I'm not on much any more. Here and there...but truthfully, I think of my Spark friends often. It was the motivation from ALL of you that helped me reach my goal and I pray that I was able to encourage you, too!

Here's to another year of good health, memorable family time and enjoying the life God has blessed me with!!!!!

My ds is suddenly interested in healthy eating and exercise/weight loss so I had him join SP, too. Hit while the iron's hot, right?

One of nine sunsets we got to experience!

One of many sand castles that were built!

One of many bodies buried in the sand!

One of lots of boogie-boarding days!

One big sand pit that was dug!

One of many, many smiles this vacation!

One of many memory-making moments!

This is only the second year of pumpkin craving for us. We don't celebrate Halloween, but wanted to have some fun that we knew the children would enjoy.

First, we had lunch at Joe's CrabShack. OMW! Rebekah and I went online before we went to help pick out what would be a healthy choice. There really isn't anything there. So we picked the "lightest" meal we could. I got a house salad with dressing on the side (and I never use it all) and a bowl of clam chowder. The chowder was amazing and very satisfying. Good thing, too, or I might have had to nibble on the children's food. I definitely didn't want to do that.

Then, we went to pick out pumpkins. I have a few children that spot one and that's it, others take measurements and eye each one up. Goodness, you'd think it was surgery. :) After they selected them, we brought them home and started....

here's the final projects:

Christopher's (with his football team's symbol and #)

Paul's (dinosaurs and pumpkins, who knew?)

Bruce's (Boo-Bear)

So that was our fun today! Sorry, not all of the pictures are very clear. Wish I was better that, but you get the "picture". LOL!!! Love you, guys!

Get ready for the weekend and take it!!!!

Cute. And really a nice job by all! We're not really into it either.

Dd got her Ranger Rick magazine, and read an article on what to do after Halloween. She'll set it out and record the changes each day for a while, and see if anything eats it. I told her to go for it! I'll cook one next year. :)

Autumn Colors

Saturday, October 22, 2011

Hair color, that is:

I'm not one to change things often. It wasn't even until I was 34, that I even thought of getting highlights. And at that point, I only did it because I had so much gray coming in. I was trying to "hide" them. :) Well, Rebekah and I went last week and decided to get new color. I went darker with more red. I'm not sure if these pictures really show it, but it definitely is much bolder for me.

Here's one of Rebekah (TEN POUNDS LIGHT over the last six week-yeah, girl!):

She went with less blonde and more accenting red. :)

So there you go. Sorry I don't have much time now, I'm off to watch my sons' football games. Praying my Christopher's ribs hold up. He's wrapped and has new rib pads on. He's determined to play.....he's so upset he's going to let his team down. So I'll be praying his whole game. Feel free to join me...I would cherish them.

Take care, dear friend.....have an awesome weekend!!!!!!!
