Up Early... But the smile is worth it...

Monday, December 22, 2014

My husband asked me to make my signature dish, meatballs with sauce, for his employees Christmas meal this today... not a problem... except he leaves for work at 4:45AM! Still not a problem, I woke up around 3:00 AM and not only made a giant crock pot of meatballs but a nice half cherry/ half apple cobbler!

The smile on his face when he woke up at 3:45 made my early morning rising completely worth it!

It's the little things that make life so special!

Blessings, friends!

Coffee, Christmas lights, Christmas Movies and Christmas cards..

Sunday, December 21, 2014

Yesterday I started my morning with coffee, Christmas lights, Christmas movies and Christmas cards... today is starting the same! For some it is a bit late to be starting Christmas cards, but for me it has become a tradition... as soon as school is out for the holidays, I get started! Of course, I'm a bit old fashioned in that I still write letters in all of MY cards... no "form letters" for me... while I like reading those we receive I still prefer the old fashioned art of letter writing! So, here's two day of relaxing and writing...

Blessings to one and all!

Update on my former student.

Saturday, December 20, 2014

So happy to report that Rachel's platelet count was up to 14,000 today! She's been in the hospital for two weeks.. yesterday they were down to 4,000 so she received yet another transfusion! Prayers are being answered! If her platelets continue to go up she may get to return to a hospital closer to home, but first they must stabilize at a minimum of 15,000!

Please keep those prayers coming! She and her family are extremely grateful for each and everyone being sent up in her name!

Blessings!

My prayers are with her, I was in the hospital in October with a platelet count down to 3000, ouch, so far the prednisone is working to block my immune system so it doesn't mark my platelets for my spleen to remove. Kind of antsy because the platelet count was lower this week but praying it will stay up. They wouldn't let me leave the hospital until my count was up to 30,000, so it was a while, so glad that is behind me and praying your student gets the same success.

Life management...

Manage your life. Don't let your life manage you.- Anon

How true is this? Sometimes I get so caught up in the "here and now" I forget to look at the BIG picture... often time to leading to undo stress... it's all about management...and I NEED to be the manager and not just an "employee!"

Blessings!

What you do speaks so loudly I cannot hear what you say.-Ralph Waldo Emerson

Such a great quote and oh so true for all of us, but especially those who work with young people.. Our students are always looking to us see if what we're doing and how we're treating others!

Blessings my friends!
