Went for a bike ride...

I started my morning with a 30 minute ride on my new toy!!! It felt great... my leg muscles SCREAMED at me.. but I kept on going for a total of 5.295 miles (I have one of those little bike computer things on my bike)!!! Total ridden so far, since picking my bike up Wednesday evening 12.395 miles!! Not too bad for someone who could only dream of riding a bike six months ago!!!!
Now, I'm off to St. Louis with my hubby!! Everyone have a spark-a-riffic week-end!

Today when I weighed in I discovered that I am two tenths of a pound... not down the three tenths.. I was really hoping for so I'd be at sixty pounds.... However, upon reflection I recalled that I ate out three times this past week, and although I ate smart.. it's still different than cooking/eating at home... I am some difficulty "estimating" the amount of calories in Chinese, Mexican, and other foods that don't have the values posted or available on line.. so I do the best I can... Perhaps I didn't estimate high enough!! Anyway... I'm just going to keep on keeping on.... I've got this.....

    Restaurant food is hard to estimate and even when they do post the values they're not always accurate. Sometimes they can be WAY off.

    Yes, estimating restaurant food can be really difficult. And I've also come to realize that there is so much more sodium in restaurant food, and that can make the scale tip upward. I love your attitude. You do "got this."

I CAN ride a bike... and away I go...a goal reached...

One day several months ago I was on a walk/bike ride with my young grandson, Layton, when he asked me why I didn't ride a bike like him... I told him it was because I needed to get in better shape so I could ride with him... So... my new goal was to get in "good" enough shape to be able to ride bikes with Layton!!! He is with us nearly every week-end and usually once through the week, so we walk/ride together allot, he calls himself my "exerciser boy".. Too sweet... anyway.... I've been researching bikes and finally chose one.... I picked it up yesterday and have now ridden it twice... once for a little less than a mile and this morning for nearly three miles..... So excited, I CAN ride a bike, I CAN! I'm so anxious for Layton to come over so we can RIDE together!!!!!

A surprising discovery...

I made a surprising discovery about myself on Friday... and that is I NEED to get physical activity in... not to lose weight but to FEEL good... I know.. who knew... prior to my revelation I worked under the assumption that I HAD to move to get physically fit... which is still true.. but... Friday when I didn't get to the gym (grandson time) I was just sort of SLUG like most of the day, low energy.. etc... However, after my grandson and I went on a short bike/walk it was as though my body WOKE up.... more energy.. brain fog gone.... who knew!!!! LOL! (Ended the day with two hours playing at the park and a power walk..)
So thankful for SPARKPEOPLE!!!

    I woke up at 2:30 this morning with antsy legs. I did not ride my bike yesterday like I normally do. I sleep better with exercise. Have a good day.

Almost...hit 60 pounds....

Last week when I weighed in, I reported that I was 1.9 pounds away from losing a total of 60 pounds, since beginning my journey to a healthier me, last fall. Well, I weighed in this morning and lost 1.6 pounds!! Almost but not quite putting me at 60 pounds...Of course, my mind ran back over my diet and exercise routines for the past week, and perhaps I could've eaten a little differently or moved a little more, BUT I lived my life and loved it, so I'm not complaining!!!!! Instead, I will take my 1.6 pound weight loss and be happy for it!!!
Now, I'm heading to the river with some of my girlfriends.. for a day of relaxation and lots of laughter!!!!!!
