Up...a bit... but...

Just weighed in and discovered I'm up five tenths of a pound this week... although this is a bit frustrating... as I've stayed within my ranges and goals all week, however, this just reaffirms what we all know and that is.. sometimes we can be doing everything right and not experience results on the scale... I know continuing to follow my healthy eating and exercise plan will continue to help me become not only healthier but stronger....

This week is back to school week for me which meant I didn't have as much time to workout as I have had all summer, I did make both Zumba classes, but no other visits to the gym... However, due to changes in my work placement/schedule I'm ALL over our campus, so I did get lots of steps and stairs in.. Of course, I was concerned that it wouldn't be enough to enhance weight loss, so I was extra careful with caloric intake this week, opting to stay at the lower end of my daily range... Anyway.. today is weigh in day and I was excited when the scale showed a 2.8 pound loss. I'm learning so much about good health and healthy choices via SparkPeople!! Thanks is such a small word, for ALL I'm receiving... :)

    Congrats!! The standard is 5 miles is 10,000 steps but that depends on how big your steps are. My steps are different then 2,000 steps per mile. I do 1 1/2 miles and that's 3250 steps.

    Good for you! You know, it is always fun to wear a pedometer. See how many steps you can get in a day. I think the goal is 10,000 a day to be considered active. You will have to look it up, but, I think there are approximately 2,500 steps in a mile. Have a great day! HUGS!

There is something special about this time of year for those involved in the field of education, which is really most of society.. For parents/grandparents/guardians its time to get those little darlings prepared for another year of school, via supplies, a new outfit or two, earlier bedtime routines, etc.... For the students both young and old, it's the anticipation and perhaps fear of starting a new year, meeting new faces and seeing those they haven't seen in awhile! Who's class will they be in? Which teacher(s) will they have? etc... For teachers, like myself, the new year brings a golden opportunity to once again strive to make a difference in the lives of EVERY student who walks through our door, a chance to encourage and motivate, a chance to teach!!! I LOVE this time of year and am so blessed to be a TEACHER!!!

    I love your enthusiasm! We truly are blessed to be in this profession. Sometimes it drives me crazy, but I really treasure being able to brighten students' days...and years...and, hopefully, lives. I teach 10th grade English, but I feel like I teach so much more, too. I want to teach each 15 year old that comes through my door that they matter, so they should care about themselves and everyone else. Sometimes that vision gets blurry mid-January when I'm tired and dealing with midterm grading, etc., but it's such an important role we play.

Get Up, Get Out, Get Moving!

This morning is absolutely beautiful here in Southeast, Missouri, with nice temperatures and a low humidity, a rarity in August, so I'm going to get up, get out, and get moving! First for a morning bike ride, then off to one of the nearby parks with walking trails with my hubby to enjoy these cooler temperatures!
I hope everyone enjoys this day in their own special way!!!

YEAH!!! I weighed in this morning and lost 1.2 pounds, not a biggie, BUT it does put me at 60.7 pounds total loss since beginning this journey last November!!!!

I will savor this moment, while looking forward to my next mini goal...
