Weigh in day... 1.7 punds this week... really only 1.2, due to the gain last week! I must admit to being just a bit frustrated with the slowness of my weight loss, but am still thankful for the progress I'm making.

Slow and steady wins the race!

We're headed toward lifestyle change, not just a change in numbers--pounds and dress sizes.

You're doing GREAT! emoticon

Personal Best.... so far...

Saturday, August 27, 2011

I just got back from a 10.85 mile bike ride in 60 minutes at an average speed of 10.9 miles per hour!! I'm so excited as this is a personal best for me, and NOT something I dared to allow myself to dream of doing... My goal was to simply be able to ride a bike with my grandson... now the sky is the limit!!!!

I'm so happy for you!!!! Congratulations on freeing yourself! Isn't life grand when we break out of our self-imposed boundaries?

I didn't think I could make time for or have the energy to exercise during the school year, and I'm finding that by exercising, I have MORE time and MORE energy!!

What I'm trying to say is, "I know just how you feel!" This arthritic fifty year-old jogged last week for the first time since high school. I grinned every step of the way.

Take care! emoticon emoticon

Up...a bit... but...

Friday, August 26, 2011

Just weighed in and discovered I'm up five tenths of a pound this week... although this is a bit frustrating... as I've stayed within my ranges and goals all week, however, this just reaffirms what we all know and that is.. sometimes we can be doing everything right and not experience results on the scale... I know continuing to follow my healthy eating and exercise plan will continue to help me become not only healthier but stronger....
Everyone have a wonderful week-end and continue to spread the Spark!!!

The scale....

This week is back to school week for me which meant I didn't have as much time to workout as I have had all summer, I did make both Zumba classes, but no other visits to the gym... However, due to changes in my work placement/schedule I'm ALL over our campus, so I did get lots of steps and stairs in.. Of course, I was concerned that it wouldn't be enough to enhance weight loss, so I was extra careful with caloric intake this week, opting to stay at the lower end of my daily range... Anyway.. today is weigh in day and I was excited when the scale showed a 2.8 pound loss. I'm learning so much about good health and healthy choices via SparkPeople!! Thanks is such a small word, for ALL I'm receiving... :)

Congrats!! The standard is 5 miles is 10,000 steps but that depends on how big your steps are. My steps are different then 2,000 steps per mile. I do 1 1/2 miles and that's 3250 steps.

Good for you! You know, it is always fun to wear a pedometer. See how many steps you can get in a day. I think the goal is 10,000 a day to be considered active. You will have to look it up, but, I think there are approximately 2,500 steps in a mile. Have a great day! HUGS!
