Today is my 49th birthday!!! I'm so proud of myself for taking the steps to make myself stronger and healthier! I know I still have many challenges ahead of me, but I also know I can DO this with the knowledge I'm gaining with SPARKPEOPLE, the support of my family and friends and MOST importantly my desire and DRIVE to continue to become a healthier person!!!!

Slowly shrinking inches!

Yesterday marked one month since I first measured my waist, hips, thighs, upper arms, and neck!! So this morning I measured and was excited to see a two inch drop in my waist measurement.... my hips stayed the same... down a half inch in my thighs... upper arm increased by an inch... neck down half an inch... and my waist to hip percentage dropped 4%!!!
These results really brightened my day and give me some "umph" to keep on keeping on!!!

Weigh In

Today is the final weigh in for Brummer Brothers' Challenge #2, which is simply a six week weight loss challenge that I signed up for with several other people! I was hoping to end with a BIG bang, but instead am ending with a ONE pound loss.. I'll be honest and say I'm a little disappointed that I didn't lose more this week, as I've really, really been active this week while also diligently tracking the food/beverages I consume!! Having said that, I am proud of the weight I have loss and will continue on with my slow but steady pace....

Swimming...Swimming....Swimming.....

Last night my grandson really wanted me to go swimming with him, but it was after I'd done time on the stationary bike and my "problem" knee was letting me know I'd pushed a little too hard. So I promised, Layton we'd go first thing this morning; which we did; just he and I.. splashing, playing and swimming for nearly a solid hour.. It was great hearing his laughter and twirling him around the pool, while at the same time getting exercise of my own...

Stationary Bike.....

We're in St. Louis for the week-end... which is nice... but means I can't get outside to exercise! Fortunately, I was able to lift a few weights and ride the stationary bike for just a bit shy of 30 minutes at a level 5 and above... for a total of 6.25 miles... Felt good...
