Zumba!!!

Last night was my second "official" Zumba class and I'm pleased with the progress I'm making so far. No, I'm not able to keep up with all the moves of my awesome instructors, but I CAN and DO keep moving the entire time. No, I absolutely don't make the moves look graceful and coordinated, but I CAN and DO attempt the moves, modifying where necessary! I love, love, love, music and wish I would've gathered my courage to try Zumba months ago, BUT the important thing is, I have now... and I'm not stopping!

I weighed today and am down 1.6 pounds since last Friday! I'll take that!

A New Week is Dawning!

It's Sunday night and as I prepare for my work week, I need to pause and focus on my health and wellness goals for the week!!! I'm learning that the more time I put into planning for a healthier lifestyle the easier it is to work towards those goals!!! This is the first day of the week and I PLANNED to drink at least 8 glasses of water (13 so far) get some exercise (walked 30 minutes=1.85 miles) stay within in my caloric range (still have 350 calories left before reaching the upper end) and journal!!!! I'm going to keep these same goals for the entire week!
Everyone have a sparkariffic week!

Weigh-In

Today marks the 5th month since I began my latest weight loss journey, although I didn't start using SPARKPEOPLE until February, so I decided to break my scale boycott and weigh.. I was down three pounds, which I'm okay with, BUT was really hoping for me, as I hadn't weighed since March 14th... However, when I look at the bigger picture I'm pleased with my 36 pound weight loss!! So all in all I'm happy!
My immediate goals include:
1. Continue tracking nutrition DAILY
2. Increase the amount of exercise I'm getting to daily and not just sporadically.
3 Lose 10 pounds in the month of April!

Going Strong....

Today is Monday, which is typically weigh in day, but I managed to stick with my goal of NOT weighing in for three weeks!!! This is week two... I'm actually handling the NOT weighing in fairly well!! I continue to get my exercise in, most days; haven't missed one day of tracking my food/drink intake, and am proud to say, I'm consistently staying within my target calorie range! I'm also reading and staying active on SPARKPEOPLE.. so whatever numbers show up when I do weigh in, I HOPE to be okay with because I know the work I'm doing on me and for me is so much bigger than any number on a scale!

Walked Again!!!

Yesterday I walked 2.4 miles at the Veteran's Cemetery! So beautiful! Today, I had too many obligations to complete before I could walk, which meant my walk was from home! I was determined to get it in, as the forecast for the next four or five days is cold and rainy! So.. off I went and got in 1.7 miles, for a total so far this week of 6.1 miles!! Feels good to be moving!!!
