"Know your limits, but never stop trying to exceed them."-Anonymous

This quote is proving to be true for me, as I've always believed I'm NOT a runner... even when I was younger... I wasn't a runner... however in the last few weeks, I've actually attempted to add a little running (perhaps some would call it a slow a jog) to my walking routines... and I'm still ALIVE... my knees can and do hold up... Amazing what the body can do when we stop our minds from saying we can't!!!

Have an awesome day!!!

I couldn't agree more! I've been working on my 'jogging/running' this summer. When folks are asking how I'm losing weight and I tell them I've been jogging, most reply with 'ugh...I can't do that. It's bad for your knees. I'm not a runner." and so on and so on. Well you know what - this chickie is doing it! If I can do it, anyone can! It's what we BELIEVE we can do! Anyone can make excuses, but those who push them aside and overcome them is what separates the 'can dos' from the 'can't dos'.

Keep going - you 'can do-er'!

Veteran's Cemetery

Tuesday, September 11, 2012

Our little community is blessed with a beautiful Veteran's Cemetery, it is one of my favorite places to walk/run and today was not exceptiong... It just touches my heart to see all the American flags waving in the wind, the beautiful reflecting pool and fountain, with all the headstones of the many, many who have given their lives for MY freedom!!! What a wonderful privilege it is to be able to have this beautiful place right here in our own community!!!

Helping others quote...

Great opportunities to help others seldom come, but small ones surround us everyday.- Sally Koch
It is important to reach out to others... continuously..

I think this matches the famous "random acts of kindness" movement. We simply need to do our best to treat others like we want to be treated--hmm that golden rule came a long time ago from Jesus of Nazareth as He tried to teach people what was acceptable behavior. It is interesting that there is still a need to teach this to others. I hope that we, the human race, gets it all figured out soon.

Take care,

I'm very proud of my daughters. They were brought up to do all of the things that you mentioned . They did them as a child and still do in their forties. emoticon

It is easy to do offer a smile to some-one you pass on the street, help a person in a wheel chair who can't reach a shelf in the grocery store or open a door or carry a
a bag for the elderly. The list is endless best of all it doesn't cost anything but a
moment of your time. Let's do it.!!

Sometimes I forget to be thankful for everything I've been blessed with in my life... choosing instead to focus on less important details/events... But not today...It's a beautiful morning ... I'm looking forward to spending the day with my husband and grandson! I am truly a blessed woman!

Enjoy your day!!!

I sure understand your thoughts here--busy parents and grandparents sometimes get lost in the activities around them with the demands that go with them.
We had an awesome church service today and it made it easy to give thanks for our blessings.
I count your comment on my blog as one of my blessings today.
thanks for stopping by and leaving your thoughts.
Sending best wishes to you,

As a Christian I know the importance of forgiveness and do my very best to be forgiving...however...I must admit that I struggle with "forgetting" an extreme betrayal that I learned about a year ago... I've worked through the anger/bitterness (for the most part) but still struggle with the pain from time to time... last night was one of those nights where my mind wouldn't let me forget... thus sleep alluded me... I've been up for hours and now that daylight has dawned I'm ready to climb on my bike and go for a ride... a good ride is just what I need.
Thank you to my "spark friends" who will read this and say a prayer for me... I appreciate it... know that I am good...just needed to vent a little... Have a wonderful day!

    Hi there,
Consider a prayer said on your behalf.
What you described is a human reaction and not to be ridiculed or punished. I often find it hard to get past the action when I have forgiven it--and I also have a couple of things that I haven't been able to forgive as well. All we can do is be honest and honorable, treating others as you would be treated and do your sould searching as needed. You do need your sleep, but sometimes night is the only time we have left for such thoughts.
I wish you a good night's rest and some peace with what's on yourmind.
Gentle hugs,

Forgiveness is a challenge for all of us. Only God can empower us to truly forgive, and sometimes he uses things like bike rides to help us cope with the pain.

Blessings to you on this Saturday.

"Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you" 1Peter 5:7

Yes, it is a challenge to forget, I understand what you mean COMPLETELY! But we have God's word to stand on so let's read it and believe it because the Lord is SO faithful and merciful to us and He can not lie!! :)
