First week back at school

I guess that this week is the real test. Can I make it to the gym regularly and eat well even when I am back at work? This afternoon I was going to go to the gym but we got some freezing rain and snow, so that was a bust. I did some leg and core exercises at home, though. I didn't get the cardio in that I wanted but I'll do a little extra tomorrow.
The Biggest Loser started! So excited for this.
The new J.Crew catalog came today, and I found some really cute things that I can't wait to buy in a smaller size this spring. i think I'll keep some pictures cut out so that I have some visual motivation.
Drinking all this water is really keeping me full. Keeping track of my water will definitely help in my fitness goals.
Maybe a day off from school tomorrow and lots of work out time! Keeping my fingers crossed.

    Hey Carilouie, a lot of what you wrote resonates for me...

Today was the first day that my 2nd grader was back in school (and the 2nd day for my preschooler). Yeah, they can't just lay around in jammies doing their Legos while I'm on the Nordic Track... (Are you a teacher or a student?)

I've torn some pages out of magazines for my visual motivation thingy, and I need to glue it all up.

I am still surprised at how quickly the calories add up. A little less cereal here, a 1/2 a banana less there...
Had some really healthy soup for lunch today. Chicken broth and veggies over rice noodles with some spicy chili oil for taste. My dessert (a serving of one of my favorite cookies) had almost as many calories as my soup!
Going to hit the gym in about an hour. It's pretty empty on a Saturday afternoon, so I have the pick of the machines and free weights. I am very determined to change my lifestyle permanently this time. I love the calorie tracker!

I am really trying to be conscious of what I am eating. It's amazing how all the little pats of butter on toast and cream in coffee add up in the calorie count! I left the butter off my toast this morning. I met a friend at Starbucks today and got a small cafe au lait with skim milk instead of the usual medium gingerbread latte with soy (YUM).
