Today was Pancake Sunday. We haven't had pancakes in a long time and I forgot how good they were. When I entered them into the Nutrition tracker, though, I got a huge surprise. Those two pancakes with syrup accounted for almost half of my day's calories! I used to eat pancakes for breakfast a couple times a week. No wonder I couldn't lose weight!
I had creme brulee on Saturday. YUM. I went out to eat with my mom and the restaurant we went to has the BEST creme brulee. I stuck to my plan and skipped the wine and the bread so I could have dessert.
Bought some really cute spring clothes yesterday. I actually *enjoyed* shopping! I can't wait until it gets warm so I can wear some new stuff.
Today I had a craving for chips. I complained to my fiance that I couldn't just go out to eat and order whatever I wanted to. Sometimes I wish that I could go out to eat and order a giant greasy sandwich, or a basket of onion rings, or a big chocolate dessert. I don't feel that way as often as I used to, but every once in a while I sometimes wish I didn't care about what I was putting in my mouth. But then he said "do you *really* want to eat that stuff though?" And I guess my answer is no. Fresh food and non-processed food tastes so much better. The last few times I ate greasy processed food, I got sick. The asparagus was SOOOO good tonight.
Went to the gym today and did my lower body exercises before my cardio. What a difference! I lifted heavier weights a little slower, and I could tell I worked hard because I couldn't even run when I was done. I just did a fast walk up an incline. Wow! I think my body needed that change. It will be summer before you know it!
Just got my China trip itinerary today. I'm SO excited! I'd like to lose another 15 pounds or so before I leave in July. I'll have to check my calendar, but I think that's doable.
Good things this weekend:
Two people I haven't seen in a while told me I looked "fabulous"
Got a nice comment that I really looked like I lost weight
Bought a smaller size in ALL my new clothes (woot woot!)
Got to see my dog, who I don't think is going to be around for much longer, which is a sad thing :(
Didn't eat too much, despite going out to eat on Saturday night.

to find some casual clothing that I can wear on a weekend. I have been so concerned with buying new clothes for work that I forgot about what to wear on the weekend. It took me FOREVER this morning to find something to wear out shopping!
Thursday night was dinner with a friend. I ate a hamburger and french fries. Blech. It wasn't my plan, but it was damn good. My punishment was that all that fried food made me sick. I made sure to run a lot last night at the gym.
This weekend is going to a hard one for making good food choices. Tonight is the symphony with my mom; it's hard to resist the homemade creme brulee at the restaurant we are going to! I think I'll skip the wine and bread and go for the dessert. Yum.
Yesterday I was reminded why I like Spark People so much. I had conversations with two people that ended up with them talking about how they can't get to the gym, how they hate to work out, no water, bad food, etc. As soon as I mentioned something about going to the gym, the conversations stopped. Now I know why friends make friends fat, especially when both friends don't have the motivation to live a healthier lifestyle. Getting motivation from all you wonderful Sparkfriends has really made a huge difference. If I didn't have this resource, I think I would have caved into giant pizzas and cakes weeks ago. Five pounds would have been enough, and I would have just lived with being Fat. But now I know that I don't have to live with that. I can keep going and who knows where I'll be in another 2 1/2 months.

Daylight savings is practically spring, isn't it?
Today I went swimming - I am SO tired. I love swimming. It burns so many calories and I don't even feel like I'm working that hard, although when I am finished I can definitely feel it.
Tonight is chicken, sweet potato gnocchi, snap peas, and a little sweet. Yum!
There is so much to do around the house. Spring break is going to be really busy for me.
Time for an appetizer!
