It's kind of funny how when you start paying attention to your body through eating and working out you can start to tell the difference between "Man, I really don't want to do this, but I will anyway" and "You know what? I can NOT drag my rear off the couch for anything." Yesterday was the latter. SERIOUSLY the latter. I got home from school and was on the couch from 3:00 until 11:00, and then I went up to bed and slept until 8:00. Holy moly! The last thing on my mind when I went to bed was if I was going to make it to the gym today.
But you know what? I did make it to the gym today. And I had a great workout. My muscles were happily lifting, and my legs were happily running little sprint intervals at the end of my workout. It's just crazy to me that my body was in that much need of rest!
And I have a confession - I was kind of checking myself out at the gym. Ha! My tum was not NEARLY as roly-poly as it was last week, and I have a pretty nice arse. My shoulders are getting seriously nice, and I think I felt "the fat melting off" today. I thought of all you friends out there in Spark land, running faster and farther, lifting more, spotting more muscles, doing longer planks, and it seriously helped me push through and have some time well spent at the gym! hooray for you!
And THEN, I came home, took a shower and started to get ready to go. (I am actually going to my mom's tonight for dinner - it's the first time in almost two months that I've seen her; since she's been mad at me for the shotgun wedding.) My hair did exactly what I wanted it to, and my new makeup is seriously wonderful.
And! I got an e-mail today that my pants shipped! The ones I forgot that I ordered! Hip hip hooray! I should have them by the end of next week.

I did it. I did an evening workout. Short TM run and then a stretch class. And you know, I had energy and drive to cook dinner after that. I made some chicken curry. GOOOOOOOOO energy from working out!
And it was a busy day. I spent most of my day at school working in my classroom - I LOVE to work in my classroom. I know it may sound a little weird, but I love getting ready for the first day of school. Labeled all my new books for my little reading corner, hung up the stuff on my ceiling, got my desk organized... AND I even took my lunch to school so I could stick to my plan! It felt really great to stick to my plan today.
Note to self - keep planning meals! And keep prepping stuff BEFORE it's time to make the meal. How stinkin' easy was it tonight to cook my chicken curry? Chicken was cooked, veggies were chopped, all I had to do was saute an onion and stick everything in the pot!
I'm going to try the early-to-bed thing tonight. No more midnight bed times, which I am kinda glad about. I mean, I love being awake when Brad gets home from work, but going to bed at midnight isn't going to cut it when school starts. In about a week! EEEEK!!!! I love it.
I love my man. He just called me from work to let me know he was thinking of me. Swoon.
Time to get some stuff ready for tomorrow... one of my girlfriends is coming to my classroom tomorrow to get some ideas. She was moved to elementary music from middle school music, and she wants to know what I use and check out some lesson plans. We're meeting for breakfast before we head over to the school... I'll get to indulge in some chai!
Time for this blog to end... the thunder is rumbling and I don't want to lose everything I've typed! Happy Friday Eve!

I don't know if this happens to anyone else, but sometimes I read the Spark People articles and I think "blah blah blah yeah yeah yeah whatever. That nonsense doesn't work for me. I KNOW what works for me." And then I sit on my arse and don't do anything. But then something happens and I think "well, I *guess* I should try what the article says." And then you know what? Something wonderful happens. Like 99.9% of the time. Like tonight? I was SO lazy. I got home from my facial and I was in the car for SOOO long this afternoon and I was lying on the couch all sad because I didn't get to the gym... and I slept. In my workout clothes, because I KNEW that if I had them on I'd be more likely to get in a workout.
Well, after my nap, I thought I would just can the workout and whatever, but then NO NO NO NO NO I HAVE TO WORK OUT! I just sent a Goodie to ROGUE_1 because she inspired me to get off my rear and do a workout! So I did my workout at home. Yes, while watching Without a Trace, I did my strength training workout. Phew! I earned my sticker and I felt SO MUCH BETTER. And you know what those crazy articles say about having more energy after you work out? It's true. I cut up some veggies to get ready for tomorrow's dinner (chicken curry) and I cooked all the chicken thighs. Yahoo!
So I ended today with a bang. The day was *not* so much a bang, but a bust. Long story short it involved a bag of sweet potato chips (well, *almost* the whole bag. I threw it out with a little over a serving left), a red wine headache, going too long in the car without a snack, and not enough water during the day. But I turned it around, got in my workout and my water, and I prepped some food for tomorrow. ShaZAM.
I think I may totally plan out tomorrow - like write a schedule and everything. I'm going to finish my peppermint tea now and do some planning...
oh, and BTW? If you have never gotten a facial, I highly suggest it. I got one done at my dermatologist's office today and it was HEAVEN.

Where did tonight go?!?!?
Today was a tiring day... I went to the gym for a serious strength training workouts, then I met with the siding guy to go over the contract and blah blah blah. The siding should be done by the end of September! I'm so excited!
I went into school for a little bit to do some stuff... there is so much to do and I just make myself crazy - I look around my room and don't actually *do* anything, I just look at what needs to be done. Sigh. If I spent half as much time doing as I do looking, I'd have everything just about done! Oh well.
Came home, took a long nap, made some bread, and fixed some sand blocks. Using the staple gun makes me feel so powerful! Ha!
Tomorrow is some cardio, probably swimming. Brad's parents are coming in the afternoon for dinner and to bring us our TV, so I have so save some strength to carry out the behemoth TV we have now. Phew!
I think it's going to be an early bed night... I didn't get 8 hours of sleep last night (no sticker, waaah!) and I've just been feeling drained lately. I don't know what it is... maybe my body just needs some super good rest. I think it is the perfect night for a hot bath and a super early bed time.
