Lots of good stuff!
- Eating has been really really good. Fewer carbs, more paying attention to what I'm eating, and I feel much better.
- Water drinking has been improving steadily. While I'm still not quite up to my four Siggs a day, I'm making progress in this area. I had lots of water yesterday and feel great today.
- I've been going to the gym much more regularly. I even scheduled a session with a trainer to get a program set up to make me mighty and muscle-y. I would LOVE to be able to do a pull-up. I have five sessions, so I figured I might as well not let them go to waste!
Today is conference day at school. I don't really have any parents, so I am getting a lot done. I have almost all my plans done up until winter break, and I'm getting copying finished well before I need it.
I'm confident that I'll be back in my size 6 pants in no time. I'd love to be comfortably in them again by the end of December.
Off to get some work done!

So the bad news is that I really haven't been that active on Spark lately. I miss catching up with everybody and I feel like I'm out of the loop on here!
The good news is that my honey is taking care of me - we are eating really well, limiting sugar and processed foods, and I've lost half a pound since last week. And that's weighing in this morning *after* Game Night, at which I had too much wine, too many hors d'oeuvres, but tons of fun.
Brad and I have been spending so much awesome time together. Yesterday we went for a nature walk at a local conservatory - we're thinking about booking it for an Anniversary Party - since we didn't have a reception.
I've been really good about going to the gym - morning gym before school has been the norm, and I feel great. Swimming is back into my routine, and I started going to yoga class and stretch class again. Running is still in there (not nearly as much), but it's enough to keep me in it.
Today I'm thinking about going to get some new gym gear - since I'm not focusing on running as much right now, I'd like to get some good stuff for weight training (i.e. not as tight/compressing as running gear), some pants for over my swimsuit, and some new tanks.
Our siding and deck is totally finished! We paid the contractor the last of it on Saturday. We couldn't be happier with the way it all turned out. Our deck looks gigantic, and the siding is gorgeous. It's cedar - most of it got replaced, but some of it was just power washed and stained. We're finally getting the house in order!
I am so so so happy! This time with my honey is SOOOOO good for me. I feel calm, in control, and positive.
Off to do some work and drink some water!

Do you remember that t-shirt that Puffy wore one year?
I am beat! I just got home from Power Yoga. The instructor was not the usual one, so the class was much different this week! There were SO MANY challenging parts to this class. This instructor does much more balance and core work than the other one, so I was totally challenged tonight. I am glad the class ended when it did, though, because I was honestly getting a little frustrated. I tried not to, but it just happened. So I was perfectly pleased to go into corpse pose.
Brad and I made vegetarian chili this afternoon. I had an in-service, so it was a short day at work. Corn bread is in the oven, and we're getting ready for a delicious dinner. MMM. (It's a really good recipe - it uses bulgur in it as the "meat." It comes from The New Moosewood Cookbook.) Today I ate a few cookies and another sweet (oops) at our in-service. It was so hard for me *not* to eat them. Sigh... I guess I still need to work on some eating habits.
This week should be a great rest of the week for working out... I'll get some more swimming in, some good strength training, and a little run or two.

This past weekend I went to a wedding with a friend. We stayed at a hotel (the wedding was about an hour and a half away) - it was like a mini-vacation for us.
So anyway, hotel-staying means going out to eat. And so we did. Friday night we had a delicious dinner (I tried my darndest not to eat too much, but that didn't work out so well). We are both morning people, so we woke up early on Saturday and went to Cracker Barrel. If you have never been to a CB for breakfast, hooo-eee you are missing some tasty breakfast. So breakfast was HUGE.
Had a little snack before the wedding, and then off we were.
I don't like to complain about weddings, but this next part is in context of my Sparking. So it's all good. The wedding buffet was a Thanksgiving dinner theme. Cute, right? Well, the food was AWFUL. The roll was stale, the veggies were canned, and the meat tasted/felt like thick lunch meat. Ugh. I had a big mound of mashed potatoes and corn for my dinner. But the good part about this whole thing is that I listened to my body. Typically I would have just eaten what was there because "we;;, it was there." But this time I really paid attention to my body and decided not to eat what wasn't delicious.
So while I was a little hungry, it wasn't horrible because of the gigantic Cracker Barrel breakfast.
Here we are, another week. I am going to continue getting up early and hitting the gym first thing. I love it!
I am going to continue tracking my food, and working on more consistent dinner tracking.
I am going to continue drinking lots and lots of water.
And just this morning, I thought of something that might be fun. Since we didn't have a wedding and we didn't have a party, I was thinking that we might have a big celebration for our one-year anniversary. It's not until July, but I think it would be fun to plan a big summer party for that. I'll bring it up to Brad tonight and see what he thinks about it.

Earlier this morning I wrote a blog about how darn early 5am is! Phew!
But I couldn't post it.
I'm back from my swim - I did 30 minutes. I had been doing 20 minute swims for a while, but I decided to up the time. Ten minutes more is a lot more calorie burn! And really, ten minutes is really no time at all.
I feel good. I've been cutting down on my breakfast eating... well, all at once, anyway. A typical morning:
Wake up, have coffee and either a small piece of fruit or a bagel/toast
Swim/gym. (teehee, a fun rhyme!)
Come home and have either fruit or toast (whatever I didn't eat before the gym), second cup of coffee.
Go to school.
Have a small yogurt in the morning before I see my kiddos.
This seems to be working out great! I'm not nearly as ravenous when lunch rolls around, and I'm actually eating less at lunch. Wahoo!
I have GOT to get a manicure. My nails look awful.
Tonight I have stretch class - I can get to the gym in the evening much more easily if I go in the morning as well. Weird. So it's either twice or nothing. Ha!
I need to print out my November calendar... have a great day!
