We had such a great time horseback riding today! The weather was perfect.

Tonight Brad is making chicken tostadas for dinner - yum! I have been a water-drinking fool today, and I've been super-good on the eating front. And I didn't even get a Chinese-Takeout-Hangover this morning! I made it to the gym for some super chest/triceps work. Tomorrow is a rest day. I am SOOOO looking forward to it.

Brad is skiing so I'm taking some ME TIME and catching up with some reading. I love me time!

Seriously, am I dreaming? I came home to find out that my honey made us reservations for tomorrow to go horseback riding! I have been talking about going for SOOO long. Hooray! AND, he read my mind about dinner. I came home and did not feel like cooking ANYthing. Before I even opened my mouth, he said "what do you think about Chinese tonight?" And I just talked about Chinese food right before I came home. Hooray!

AND! Our new speakers came! We got a gift card to the Apple store for X-mas, and we ordered some Harman Kardon Soundsticks. They are so beautiful and they sound great. I'm so excited! I'm listening to some East Coast Hip Hop on Pandora, and it's so amazing. Foul language has never sounded so good in our house!

So because we're going horseback riding tomorrow afternoon, I'm considering saving my strength training for Sunday. I used to ride a lot, and I know how crazy it is on your muscles. I'm going to think about it.

Tonight is all about enjoying my laziness. I'm having a glass of chardonnay and I'm not planning on tracking anything else tonight. I'm putting my careful eating on hold for the rest of the evening. Sometimes I have to do just that so I don't go crazy and eat the whole universe.

I drank tons of water today and got myself a whole bunch of workout stickers on my calendar, so it's guilt-free sweet and sour chicken.

Off to enjoy some vino!

    I can't wait to hear how horseback riding went! I haven't gone since i was a kid and have been wanting to lately... hmmmm what a great idea :)

What kind of east coast hip hop are you listening to?

I love Friday Eve almost as much as I love Fridays. I celebrated with a glass of wine, and I'm about to get my head rubbed by my honey. Life is good.

Ate two yummy salads today... I love having a salad with a little "real food" on the side. Lunch was a little homemade pasta, and dinner was one chicken tostada. I am in food heaven lately!

This week has been awesome on the workout front - I've been to the gym very regularly, and I feel great! This morning I even had the Hallelujah Chorus going through my head for about an hour because I put on a pair of pants that hadn't really been fitting, and today they buttoned up with hardly a roll! Hooray! Nothing like pants to show success!

It's funny how my food tracking is working again, too. It's almost like I needed all of 2011 (ha!) to NOT track, and I am really motivated to track again. Weird... But I've been tracking it all, and I'm figuring out that I need more protein and less fat. But my carbs have been better, which is no small thing.

    Tracking is really an amazing tool, isn't it? For me, sometimes the simple reality of having to put something in my tracker makes me think twice about eating it! I hope I'm doing the pants dance again soon - mine have been awfully snug after the holidays.

Keep up the good work - and keep those really good food pictures going! I think the measuring cups were your best yet!

    YAY!!!!! pants that fit! that is my goal...sadly, even the ones that were too big are tight...ugh!!! and this weekend is away,eating out,living in a hotel...not good for pants.

    I'm so glad for you!!

I'm also glad I'm not the only one with a shortage of protein and overage of fat in her diet :P That's hard!! I don't eat a lot of meat so it's difficult to get it in there when you don't cook with beans and such all the time!

I have an awesome honey. Last night he chopped up some onion and pepper, put it in a big container in the fridge, and now I have the beginning of an omelet for the rest of the week. Hooray! Cooking is so much easier when you're prepared!

Today is some leg and shoulder work. It's the week to up the weights, so I'm anticipating some seriously sore muscles tomorrow.

Today:
- track all food!
- drink tons of water
- be positive
- kick my own butt at the gym

    Awww definitely an awesome honey! You're absolutely right, it is so much easier to cook and to cook HEALTHY food when you are prepared. I need to chop up some veggies in advance to save time...

    WOOHOO for sore muscles!! that means tight,buff muscles~~~ :)
and yes, having things ready for goodforyou foods makes it MUCh easier to make the right choices. I've got some green onions and mushrooms in there..but NO EGGSS!!!!! ARgh! maybe when DD wakes I can hit the farmer down the road for some 'real' eggs~~(closer and tastier than store bought)

Today was a great fitness day. Morning run, evening yoga. Tomorrow is a morning strength training session - my legs are going to be so wobbly!

I drank lots and lots of water, and I even snacked on a clementine.
