An arm-y day.

By my calculations, I did over a .75 mile swim this morning! What a great way to start out the week.

There is a little pink line going across the sky - the forecast is saying around 70 degrees today! I'm glad I picked up some spring clothing - I have to get it all out already.

Yesterday I got some Pure Protein powder to try. I have been very hesitant about trying protein supplements, but after reading a bunch of info on different kinds, this one seemed to be the one to pick. The ingredients aren't *horrible* and it actually doesn't taste too bad! I got the frosty chocolate and mixed it with some plain soy milk for my post-swim breakfast. I need to build up these arms so I can kick butt at the Tough Mudder!

I actually thought my arms looked pretty good this morning - I checked them out in the mirror and they are starting to get some good shape to them. I can't wait to bust out the sleeveless tops!

So today I got on the scale to get back to my Sunday Weigh-In Days. And I was SO thrilled. I am back to where I was a year ago! I lost all my Brad-Is-Working-Seven-Days-A-Week-So-Who-G
ives-A-Rip-What-I-Look-Like Weight! This is wonderful. I went shopping today - I had to exchange a TOO BIG skirt (hooray!) and I picked up a few more spring goodies. I found a skirt made out of recycled material - who knew! I also had to get some new SMALLER bras - I went down a band size (Hooray!!!) so I needed to get a new boost. What a wonderful day. I can tell I'm feeling good - I *wanted* to go shopping. And not for stretchy stuff that would cover me up. I found lots of cute fitted stuff for the season!

Good things:
- I woke up early and did a tough circuit. Holy moly!
- Walked around the loop with my honey
- Had a delicious pizza for lunch
- Declined a second crepe for dessert. I'm going to stick with yogurt and strawberries.

Tomorrow's plan:
- morning swim
- do some laundry
- enjoy an evening with honey (he goes back to work on Tuesday, so I have to enjoy the time!)

Off to pack my lunch!

    yay!! I must say, we are very often on the same page!
I'm thrilled for you!!! and I went to Target to buy boys' clothes and ended up with a sweet khaki SIZE 4 skirt and pretty top to go with(small,but think I might try the med. in case it shrinks). The skirt is just a smidge too tight in the hips,but the next size will hang in the waist. So, I"m keeping it for awhile and see how many inches on the hips I'll lose.
If you can,post some pics of you sporting your neW CLOTHES.

Today was a really wonderful day. I slept in a little bit (if 7:15 is sleeping in), Brad and I met with our realtor today to answer some questions, and I got in a really good run! I did three miles with some killer hills. I'm feeling good! My legs are happy, my body is happy... hooray!

Not much to say tonight... getting ready for Pittsburgh... I can't wait!

A Lesson in Maintenance

It's weigh-in day. And today, I weighed just the same as I did last week. My initial response was to be upset, but then I remembered what kind of week I had - fried chicken before a meeting, a weekend full of going out to eat, and more rest days than usual (I'm taking another one today). So then my thought turned a little more positive - "if I wanted to stay right where I am, this week is how I can eat and work out." It's *not* where I want to stay, but it kind of opened my eyes. I had been getting lazy with tracking over the last year, which is why I wasn't losing any more weight. I stayed right where I was because I was eating like this past week all year. Tracking is a wonderful thing.

So anyway, I get to think about improving my nutrition for this week and scheduling workouts. I felt a little tickle in my throat this morning - our bodies are really smart. Last night I just KNEW that today was going to be a rest day. It was one of those times where I couldn't talk myself out of taking a rest day... and I'm glad I took today to sleep in. I think tonight is going to be a super lazy night.

Good things!
- I ate HALF a bag (the indiv. size) of M&Ms for a snack yesterday. I was craving some chocolate, and I got a little bag of peanut M&Ms. The math teacher next door looked at me and asked "WHERE ARE YOUR CARROTS???" She convinced me to bring baby carrots into school to snack on, but they just weren't going to cut it. She said "is it worth the calories to eat the whole thing?" So I thought about it, and no, it wasn't. But half the bag? Yep. So I have a little chocolate treat for today too!

- I had a great night with Girls on the Run. Last night was my first night volunteering. I got to see some of my girls from the last two years, and it was a very positive experience. I can't wait to go back!

- Brad got a job!!!! He starts on Tuesday and I am THRILLED!!!!

- I have to return a skirt because it doesn't fit. IT'S TOO BIG!!!!!! I am dancing the happy dance of joy thinking about it.

- Today is jeans day at work. Perfect.

Nineteen Days!!!!

I just looked at my ticker and saw that there are only 19 days left until JASR!!!! I am SOOOOO excited. Seeing all my Spark Friends in Pittsburgh is going to be amazing. I just am ready to burst I can't wait!!!

Went to the Philly Flower Show with my mom on Sunday. It was AMAZING. It made me almost want to improve my black thumb and grow some plants. I think I'll leave it up to the pros and I'll just stand back and enjoy the fruits of their labor.

Eating was HORRIBLE over the weekend. Okay, maybe not *horrible*, but it certainly wasn't what I'm used to eating. We went out to eat for every meal and when Sunday evening rolled around, my tum was very unhappy. I need to clean it out and get some good fruits and veggies in there!

Today's goodness:
- drank lots of water
- had a super circuit at the gym this morning
- wore a fun new red coat! (mum and I went spring shopping on Saturday... found some super cute things!)
- ate healthy food and now I feel great

early to bed tonight... this time change is knocking me for a loop!

    I felt the same way with eating sugar all weekend so I treated my poor body better today: low carbs and lots of veggies.
