Three cheers for arms!

I know I recently wrote about this, but I can't even tell you how excited I am. Today I looked in the mirror while I was getting ready, and I saw some arm definition. Without flexing, without doing anything. It was just *there*. I have been working so hard on my upper body strength - it feels amazing to have something to show for it!

I'm feeling super good today. My bum looks great in my pants, my arms are lookin' fine in my sleeveless shirt, and my hair did what I needed it to do today. This is a great day.

Last night I went out to dinner with my bestie - we started planning our summer road trip to Florida. I thought we were going to Red Lobster, but she said she was in the mood for pasta. So Olive Garden it was. I'm not a huge fan of Olive Garden - I'm not really a pasta eater anymore, and their chicken dishes aren't all that good. So I checked on the website to see what the calories looked like - wow. Not too many "good" choices. So I did a mix of:

- garden salad with dressing on the side (the salad there is often swimming in dressing)
- Pasta e fagioli (130 calories for a serving - not too bad!)
- Caprese flatbread (300 calories for half - I brought the rest home to hubs)
- a breadstick (come on, they're good!)
- NO dessert!

So I consider it a successful night. This week has been insane with the eating - I miss eating at home. And tonight is another night out to eat - I am hosting a talent show at school and I don't have time to come home in between school and being there. So I have to get *something* for dinner. I think take-out sushi might be a good option. There is a great little place close to school and they have great sushi.

Good thing about last night!
I Sparked my friend! She was bummed out about her weight, so of course I went on and on about SparkPeople. And I think the biggest testament to how well it works is my success! I don't like to brag, but I'm proud of the fact that I've kept with this for over three years and I've kept my weight off. Last year's ten pound creep-up was due to not tracking my food and not Sparking as diligently as I had been in the first two years. But I got back on track, and I've lost all but three pounds of my creep - all since January! So I think she's signing up for a 5K walk! One of my little hints for her was to sign up for something because like it or not, the event will be there! So you might as well be ready for it.

    It feels SO good to actually see the results, doesn't it?

I catch myself flexing my forearms while I'm driving just because I love the fact I have REAL definition. That I'm honestly and truly getting stronger. My oldest child likes to flex her little muscles because she sees my pride.

I even bought a sleeveless workout shirt so I could show off my more toned shoulders.

I love it so much. Congrats! It feels great!

A beautiful day

I need today's rest day. I've been go go go go go-ing and I'm ready for a day off.

Last night I went to dinner before the school board meeting and I went with seared tuna with seaweed salad, and a little roll of sushi to start. We even split the sushi! (I am proud to day I introduced someone to sushi - it was her first time eating it and she loved it!) I *did* get a piece of peanut butter pie, but it was so delicious and I enjoyed every bite. Tonight is out to dinner again! Probably more fish - I think we're headed to Red Lobster.

Today:
- water water water!
- watching the calories at dinner... maybe sticking to the light menu.
- stretch stretch stretch!

Track track track!

Wow - this week is going to be a crazy eating week. Brad and I went out for dinner last night, I had a burger and fries. VERY delicious and the tracking was very eye-opening. Today the faculty is getting lunch from a local pizza place - I'm getting an Italian sub. Yum! Tomorrow night I'm going out for dinner between school and the school board meeting. Thursday night I'm meeting a friend for dinner so we can start planning our Florida road trip. Phew!

This week it's going to be important for me to use the tracker. Last night I entered all my calories. ALL. Even the beer! Wow... those calories sure add up. But I'm using it for good. I know that this week I need to get in some extra workout time to burn it off. I am more motivated than ever to get in a good run this afternoon. If I wouldn't have seen how many calories were in my dinner last night, I might just brush off tonight's run and call it a day. But not tonight! I feel more disciplined than ever - I have lots of events coming up, and I have to really be in great shape for them.

Looks like it's going to be a beautiful sunny day! Almost 70 degrees - all week, it seems. What a lovely way to celebrate the first day of spring!

An arm-y day.

By my calculations, I did over a .75 mile swim this morning! What a great way to start out the week.

There is a little pink line going across the sky - the forecast is saying around 70 degrees today! I'm glad I picked up some spring clothing - I have to get it all out already.

Yesterday I got some Pure Protein powder to try. I have been very hesitant about trying protein supplements, but after reading a bunch of info on different kinds, this one seemed to be the one to pick. The ingredients aren't *horrible* and it actually doesn't taste too bad! I got the frosty chocolate and mixed it with some plain soy milk for my post-swim breakfast. I need to build up these arms so I can kick butt at the Tough Mudder!

I actually thought my arms looked pretty good this morning - I checked them out in the mirror and they are starting to get some good shape to them. I can't wait to bust out the sleeveless tops!

So today I got on the scale to get back to my Sunday Weigh-In Days. And I was SO thrilled. I am back to where I was a year ago! I lost all my Brad-Is-Working-Seven-Days-A-Week-So-Who-G
ives-A-Rip-What-I-Look-Like Weight! This is wonderful. I went shopping today - I had to exchange a TOO BIG skirt (hooray!) and I picked up a few more spring goodies. I found a skirt made out of recycled material - who knew! I also had to get some new SMALLER bras - I went down a band size (Hooray!!!) so I needed to get a new boost. What a wonderful day. I can tell I'm feeling good - I *wanted* to go shopping. And not for stretchy stuff that would cover me up. I found lots of cute fitted stuff for the season!

Good things:
- I woke up early and did a tough circuit. Holy moly!
- Walked around the loop with my honey
- Had a delicious pizza for lunch
- Declined a second crepe for dessert. I'm going to stick with yogurt and strawberries.

Tomorrow's plan:
- morning swim
- do some laundry
- enjoy an evening with honey (he goes back to work on Tuesday, so I have to enjoy the time!)

Off to pack my lunch!

    yay!! I must say, we are very often on the same page!
I'm thrilled for you!!! and I went to Target to buy boys' clothes and ended up with a sweet khaki SIZE 4 skirt and pretty top to go with(small,but think I might try the med. in case it shrinks). The skirt is just a smidge too tight in the hips,but the next size will hang in the waist. So, I"m keeping it for awhile and see how many inches on the hips I'll lose.
If you can,post some pics of you sporting your neW CLOTHES.
