It's an exciting night

Tonight was weigh-in night at the gym. I had some Valentine's Day candy today - I got it from a student whose mom makes the best homemade candy. It fit into my criteria: a) homemade and b) something I can't make at home. It was even worth tracking into my calorie counter! (If I would have been patient enough to figure out all the foods in it - it was like a Chex Mix sweet. YUM!)
Since I only lost .2 pounds last week, I was prepared to see a small number again. I got rid of another 1.3 pounds! I officially lost 10 pounds with SparkPeople. I was SO excited.

On another note, it's a very stressful time for me right now. I have papers to write, music to practice, appointments to make, and planning to do for a 2nd grade musical. I need to make sure to reserve time for me in the midst of everything I have to do.

Off to watch ER and go to bed.

Spring Fever!

Today was a beautiful day. I let kiddos out of their cars this morning and I didn't want to go back into school. I'm so tempted to get out all my spring clothes, but on the weather channel, the 10 day forecast has snow in it. Oh well. I am so excited to reveal the new bod in my spring clothes. Right now almost everything is big on me, but I'm waiting for spring to replenish the wardrobe. Yippee!
Tonight I came home from school and musical rehearsal and was starving. I ate turkey, waffles, maple syrup, and three cookies. Ugh. I still managed to enter it all in, and I really didn't go over my calorie count too much. Then I took a nap. Then my fiance came home from work to see my lying on the couch. He suggested that I go to the gym, which was the last place I wanted to go tonight. But I went anyway. And it was WONDERFUL! I felt so good when I came home. I took it easy, just some fast walking, but it was still great.
Tomorrow night is weigh-in night... had to get some extra calories burned before then. It's late.... off to bed. Keep your fingers crossed for weigh-in night!

The gym is calling...

I have my new (smaller!) gym pants on and I'm ready to go. Tonight is lower body and abs night.
Today the gym teacher at my school asked what I'm doing to lose so much weight. I told her how much I've been working out and that I've been really keeping track of my calories taken in. We agreed that staying active is really the key to losing weight and keeping it off. I want to be a positive role model for my students... I think it's important for young children to see the importance of activity and eating right.

lazy Sunday

This morning I had an early morning performance, so I decided to stop at Dunkin' Donuts for breakfast. I got a gift card as a Christmas present from one of my students, so I figured today would be as good a day as any to use it. I got one of those flatbread sandwiches (the turkey sausage one). It was alright, not my favorite. But good for on the run. I actually could taste the sausage, which was good. I have to say, I enjoy eating my breakfast at home much more than on the road. The coffee I brew at home tastes better, too.

I didn't do a whole lot today, I was actually kind of lazy. Went to the local outlets to try on some clothes and see where I am, size-wise. I guess I'm right where I should be, realistically. However, in my mind I should be further along. It was still nice to see that I am making progress, though. Bought a new pair of gym pants - size M!!! I was so excited. Can't wait to wear them this week. I think by March, I should be right on target to hit my goal I set for then.

Off to another busy week... I am really making the gym a priority for me - same as doing my schoolwork or practicing the piano.

Busy busy busy...

This week has been so full! Last night I came home from school and crashed on the couch. I went to bed at 9:30!
I have two performances this weekend with the high school show choir. It's a busy time of year for music teachers... musicals, performances, rehearsals... but it makes the time go fast.
My taxes are done. yay! I think I'll take some of the refund and buy some new Spring clothes.
Off to get some cleaning done.

NEW: Well I did my cleaning, and I also made it to the gym. I entered my calories burned and taken in; SparkPeople suggests that I change my workout setting since I often burn more than my calculated amount. But I love seeing that I burned so many more calories than I was scheduled to. Is that horrible? I guess it's a little guilty pleasure.
It's a beautiful Spring-like day, and my mood has improved 100% over yesterday. It's amazing what a little warmth and sunshine can do!
