So I was starting to feel a little more lumpy and bumpy than usual, and I think it had a lot to do with a lack of pushing myself during my workouts. It was starting to get into a *bad* routine, where I was too comfortable with the weights I was using and too comfortable with the treadmill.
But back to school means a new routine. And I LOVE my new routine. I have been taking kickboxing and "Intensity" classes, which totally get me sweating. Today's Intensity class was 60 minutes of plyometrics... AAAAHHHHH. And that was *after* a 30 minute run... phew!
I drank lots of water and went out walking around today to keep loose. I walked around a Holistic Wellness Expo... it was very interesting. Came home, noshed on some tortilla chips and homemade salsa (it is SOOOOO good) and I have a broccoli strudel in the oven. Yum!
Tonight - laundry (easy to do while I relax - just getting up to switch stuff around), water, wine, strudel, some TV, a little planning for next week, relaxing...
Tomorrow (this list is much longer):
- freeze squash
- use up the tomatoes and make marinara for the freezer (honey is making pizza dough!)
- plan outfits for the week
- make Spanakopita with the greens from the farm
- grocery shopping
- get some Important Paperwork done (Oh, Canada!)
- water water water
- keep the tortilla chip and salsa eating to a reasonable limit
Phew! Off to check the strudel and get some wine... tonight I'm enjoying some Niagara from a winery in the Finger Lakes (I can't think of which one off the top of my head).

My alarm went off this morning at 5:02. Bleh. Wednesday is an early gym day, and today I really didn't want to go. So I hit snooze. But I didn't go back to sleep... instead, I thought about not going to the gym. I would have been awake anyway - just not at the gym. Decided that the same 30 minutes would pass whether I was at the gym or not, so I got up, put on my swim suit, and got in my Wednesday laps.
I feel so good. BAH - the post-workout feeling is amazing!
Already on my way to getting all my water in for the day. Yahoo!
- tons of water
- make tomato sauce tonight
- cook the chicken tonight
- stick to one snack at school
- clean something up when I get home
Toast and egg is ready - have a super day!

Let's try again... cereal is hidden away, I have dinner planned, and my snacks are planned out as well.
- lots and lots and lots of water. I haven't been getting enough water lately, and I keep thinking I'm hungry even when I'm not.
- work super hard and smart at the gym - two mile TM run, Power Yoga, kickboxing
- stick to one snack in the afternoon to give me energy for the gym (Luna bar), and then a fruit smoothie for dinner. Breakfast and lunch are pretty high in calories, so a light dinner is what I'm sticking to today.
- stay positive!

A behavior strategy for elementary kids is to have them fill out a paper explaining what the problem behavior was, how they could have handled it differently, etc. The idea is to have them think about what they did and how the situation can be avoided in the future. So here is *my* version of this...
What was the problem?
- I ate too much cereal.
What led to this problem?
- I thought I was hungry.
How did you feel after you ____?
- I felt disappointed in myself, a little sick to my stomach, not satisfied
What can you do in the future to keep this from happening again?
- Drink more water during the day and then more when I get home from school.
But really, that *is* what happened. Once again, I thought I was hungry. Instead, it was that I didn't have enough water. Do I'm really going to make an effort to drink a Sigg of water on the way home from school (I am a good car-water-drinker) and then have a big glass when I come home. I had an afternoon snack at school, so there really was no reason why I should have had dinner so early and then got into the cereal. Sigh...
Did everything on my list (except stick with the eating plan - I stuck with it until I got home). I got my gym clothes ready for tomorrow, I got some new music for my gym play list (Fergie - London Bridge, NERD w/Nelly Furtado - Hot n' Fun, and Christina Aguilera - Bionic). New music seriously gets me pumped up - and since I'm on a new running schedule, I need some good new music to get me through those TM runs! After I post this blog, I'm going to re-load my iPod and then pack my lunch for tomorrow.
Tomorrow night is a crazy gym night - two mile run, Power Yoga, kickboxing. Yahoo! I'm looking forward to it.
Time to cut up some fruit!
