I'm so excited that my hubby has slowly succumbed to my new eating habits. In the past, he lost about 50 pounds by doing the Atkins program. When we got together about 4 years ago, I tried Atkins and it didn't work for me. (Having been vegetarian/vegan for 28 years, I still like my fresh fruits and veggies.)
So it's been hit and miss the past 4 years. Mostly miss. When I started SparkPeople, I tried not to say too much about it. But I was so *SPARKY* and kept having all these *WoooooHooooo* moments that he began wondering what was up with me. (When I have a WoooooHooooo moment, I just can't keep still about it!)
Well, without saying much about it, he's been following my lead in making changes to my diet. This morning, when he stepped off the scales, he said he's lost 12 pounds!
How cool is that?!!!

60 years ago, I kept my mother from voting on election day! (ha!)
But more important than that, it was on my 28th birthday (in 1980) that I finally surrendered my heart and life to Jesus. He is my constant and true Companion. I have failed Him so many times, but He has never given up on me. He is the Greatest Gift, and for that, I rejoice today!

I still can't believe it. I'm blown away with the progress I am making by following the SP guidelines. And it's not rocket science! It is simple nutrition and movement. Wooohooo!
Despite a nasty bout of IBS this past week (brought on by reducing my fat intake too much) I still lost a pound. The health articles helped me learn what type of fat and foods would be beneficial . The nutrition tracker helped me keep my numbers under control and I'm staying right on course. A win win situation!
I'm so thankful to have found SparkPeople and equally glad that I made the decision to sign up for SparkCoach for 3 months. I love the daily check in, motivation, and education. Good stuff!
Gotta go . . . got a very important date with SparkCoach.

Last year, I set a goal to be 159 by my birthday when I turned 59. Well, that came and went, and I was so disappointed in myself for failing. Well, probably more like not even trying.
Earlier this year, I set a similar goal when I hit my heaviest ever weight, to be 160-something by the time I turned 60 in November. I figured I had plenty time to get there.
Then suddenly, it was October and I was only one month away from my birthday! I got depressed knowing I was already doomed to failing again.
Then I stumbled upon SparkPeople. I signed up on October 1, started the program on Oct 2 . . . and last week I already made it to 169 (that IS 160-something!!!) I haven't been below 170 in SOOO long.
But I am only part way to my 1st goal. I'm shooting for 155. Then I'll re-evaluate. I might stay there, depending on how I'm feeling and how my Dr says I'm doing.
But whatever my final goal is . . . now I KNOW I can do it!
Congrats to those who are believing in themselves and sticking with the program.
NEVER give up! Cos WE ARE DOING IT!!!!

...or is that catch up. Yeah, that's it. Gone most of the day yesterday so there's so much to catch up on.... house work, Spark work, etc.
I've already cleaned and relocated the aquarium . . . that's a chore in itself. I made that my priority for the day.
Now, it's time for Spark Class. When I decided to sign up for SparkCoach, I determined to treat it with the commitment as a continuing education course, with flexible class times. I don't want to miss a day of it and I want to gain as much education as I can from it.
After all, it IS all about me.
Happy Monday everyone!!
