If my understanding about SparkPeople is on target, this entire journey is about re-educating me and replacing my old habits -- those that got me into this shape to begin with! -- with good habits in the areas of health and fitness.
I don't see anywhere starving or forever denying ourselves fits into the program at all! Especially when there are so many wholesome, nutritious, flavorful recipes and foods available.
For example, last week, with all the stress and busy-ness, I was thinking about an old favorite --- PIZZA.
But instead of doing what we normally would do, we made pizza at home. I bought a whole wheat pizza crust that has 60 calories per 1/6 slice. Hubby made home made pizza sauce, added low fat cheese and meat, and added some of veggies.
And because I had planned ahead, I had 3 pieces which fit well into the nutrition plan for my day. I didn't go over my calories, fat, carbs or protein for the day.
(And we had leftovers for the next day too!) It was so yummy and certainly satisfied my craving for pizza. And I didn't feel fat and bloated afterwards.
I think I'm liking this!
