My ol' bod was stiff and sore this morning. I sat down on the floor in front of the wood stove and closed my eyes.
Then I started gently moving the stiff joints, sore muscles, warming them up.
It felt good, so I kept on moving, this way and that. I did some of the moves from Coach Nicole's core routines, and tossed in a bit of yoga.
After about half an hour, I was feeling pretty good. I was all warmed up and feeling pretty good.
Then, I got on the treadmill . . . . and conquered that puppy! (okay, so it was only 15 minutes at level 3 . . . but, that's good for me . . . I'm the person that couldn't do 3 minutes a year ago.)

Well, no it isn't. If it were that easy, somebody would have already made a magic button we could push . . .
heaven knows there are a gazillion miracle pills and diets and supplements and patches and workout dvds and surgeries and . . . .
I find that the most successful time in my journey to health and achieving weight loss was when I took advantage of SparkCoach. I'm thinking about signing up for it again . . . .
Meanwhile, I'm trying to take advantage of some of the helpful articles and blogs here on SparkPeople. This excerpt is taken from a blog about the reasons we're not losing weight, written by Coach Nichole:
The only way to do it is to track, measure and weigh your food honestly and accurately, and burn excess calories through increased physical activity.
Here are a few other common reasons you may not be losing weight despite doing everything right:
You're skimping on sleep.
You don't fit the standard formulas for calorie estimation.
Your "cheat days" are cheating you.
You're battling chronic stress.
You're eating too many or too little carbs, protein or fat.
Weight loss seems simple, but it doesn't happen easily. But many, many people just like you have fought the battle and won—and you can, too. Just be consistent. Track, track, track. Ask for help and support. And slowly but surely, you will get there.
I was so happy to be able to put in about 8 hours of hard riding this weekend. That was totally impossible before I began Sparking last October. Within 2 months, using and following the SparkCoach plan, I had nearly met my first weight loss goal, and had far surpassed all hope I had in regaining my move-ability.
I really thought I was going to be overweight, with limited mobility, aches and pains for the rest of my life!
I don't have a gym membership, so I began with Coach Nichole's seated core exercise videos (in SparkPeople's free video library) and my mobility continued to improve. Tracking everything I ate and staying in range, the weight came off nearly without effort. I was amazed!
Remembering where I've come from is helping me get re-energized and motivated to set new goals. I've been maintaining the initial weight loss since December. But I can see where I have become lax. I know bad habits are my default mode, and are so easy to fall back into.
I don't want to go backwards . . . I want to forge ahead. It's going to be a great summer and I want to be able to embrace and enjoy every bit of it and be the best that I can be!

The weather cooperated for our Meet & Greet/Show & Shine. It's a 90 minute ride for us to even get to where the ride started! So we had to start out at 8:30. Temp was 41 degrees . . . wind chill puts that between 11 and 27 degrees. Brrrrr. Had to find my winter gloves. Guess what hubby will be installing on Lil Red next week . . . wind guards and heated grips!
We met several new Spyder owners. Despite the bad @$$ biker image, most motorcycle riders I've met are the nicest people. And these folks were no exception.
All in all, we rode for several hours, through mountains and valleys, by streams and rivers, meadows, pastures, vineyards, forests . . . . ahhhh, it was wonderful
