I have had an interesting day overall, but I'm just going to share my food findings and exercise on here today. This morning I started my day in a not so healthy way with some sugary cereal. I realized that, while most days my sugar cravings are not terrible, my sugar cravings were intense today. Most days begin with a bowl of oatmeal, but it's still sweetened by adding peanut butter. (I've recently become really obsessed with peanut butter.) I think that by starting my day with something super sweet it determined my sugar cravings for the day. This also lead me to eat about 600 calories worth of semisweet chocolate chips. Yikes! I am not going to beat myself up over it, but it has taught me a lesson. My solution is that if I want sweets then I will start having the very sweet foods later in the day. I feel like the first meal may decide how the rest of the day will go, does anyone else feel that way?
Then we come to the exercise portion of today. I'm still doing the Tone It Up workouts which are still awesome and kick my butt all of the time. They started their wedding series on Friday I believe. I don't quite remember. Also, a note on this, I'm not getting married, but my friend is getting married and the workout is for anyone who is involved in a wedding. I'm going to be her maid of honor! I'm so excited and nervous, but it is still over a year away. Anyhow, what I do remember is that they challenge you to do 2 miles a day of walking/jogging/running/cycling etc. So far I have accomplished those 2 miles a day walking for the most part.
Today I really wasn't feeling well. I had a terrible headache and just felt like I had a cold. I realized I had very little water up until after lunch time so I've been drinking plenty since. I had 24 ounces and then decided to do 5 minutes of yoga. Then I drank 8 ounces more refilled my water cup ( which unfortunately only holds 16 ounces) and accomplished a 50 minute circuit training routine that was in my schedule for today. I have had 32 ounces since the beginning of that workout up until now. I made sure to get my snack in and do my stretches, and honestly I feel amazing. Exercise does the body good. That's for sure. It would be hard to tell that just 2 or so hours ago I was in bed with a headache. It really is amazing what exercise can do, and that is why I'm such an advocate for it. I've never felt better in my life.

It has started out a tough week, but I've still been managing to get in my exercise. I started the week out with a cold, a hurt wrist, and sore gums. It has been unbearable especially the second and third on that list.
I missed my workout for yesterday which isn't that big of a deal since I'm supposed to take at least one rest day as a goal. I didn't exercise because the scheduled exercises and replacements that I was looking into involved putting a lot of weight on my wrist. And I know exercising would have just made it worse so I gave it a day to heal. The other reason I didn't exercise yesterday was because I honestly couldn't eat much of anything. I still managed to get my protein and vitamins in, but it was not easy. I mixed orange juice with carrots and a pear that I juiced. It's really delicious by the way.
Today, I am better able to eat which is ! I do still have to numb my gums occasionally and haven't gone too far from my straw. I'm slowly getting there. Also, my wrist isn't hurting, and I got in my workout today with yesterdays on top of it. I didn't tell myself I had to do yesterdays, but after I finished today's workout I chose to do yesterdays and on top of that I repeated today's workout as well!
I will never let an off day ruin my entire week again, but that is how I used to work. I basically used it as an excuse, but after my success today I do not want to enable that behavior in myself.
I'm doing a lot of Tone It Up workouts nowadays. They are pretty fun and difficult. However, if f I'm not doing those my workout consists of either workouts on blogilates or sarah fit channel on youtube. The final choice for where I get my workout ideas are from the Nike Training Club app. If you ever get bored with your workouts those are awesome ways to switch up your workout.

I decided that blogging more may help me stay on track with sparkpeople than in the past. I've never blogged much on the site, but it is actually nice to be able to record my thoughts of the moment. Then I'll be able to look back when I get further down the road.
Anyway, I decided this post should include my workout plan for the week. I'm not a huge fan of cardio, but I try to get it regularly. I've chosen to attempt the fitness plan on the Tone It Up website. I did the first video today which was for the arms and glutes. I didn't quite match the cardio the site said to get.
Hopefully, the rest of the week will be better! Also, I am slowly learning the belly dancing moves. I was trying to secretly practice them while I was waiting at the bus stop today.

So, I have much to discuss in this blog post. I was doing well before the holidays and starting my new semester. I was going to the gym every Thursday and working out for about an hour. I did more exercising, but that is what sticks out in my mind.
I had practically gained back all of the weight I lost in my first semester of the year. Towards the beginning of the semester I tried my first group fitness class called Wake Up and Shape Up which my roommate and friend now calls Wushu. It was a bit much for me at the time. I went a few weeks without exercising at all. It was terrible. That was probably the time when I gained my weight back because my scale's batteries were dead up to last week.
Last week when I checked I was back to the weight before starting sparkpeople again. I checked that on Thursday morning after my shower. This was because I was curious how much I weighed and the afternoon before I finished my first Nike Training Club workout Body Flexor. I ate out the next two nights not watching what I ate at all. This evening checked my weight again because I was worried about the two nights of eating without any constraint on portions or type of food I ate.( It's a terrible habit to check the scale that frequently, but I'm working on it.) When I checked this evening it was down 2 lbs. There was no exercising since Wednesday. I panicked a little when I saw that because I thought I wasn't eating enough, and since I didn't have a legitimate dinner (meaning I had oatmeal at 5 or so) chose to make a sandwich.
I'm on different weight loss sites because I like the variety, but I mainly go between Sparkpeople and Fatsecret. I just joined a challenge on FatSecret that is to do 10 minutes of dancing every day which decidedly would also help me accomplish my 10 minutes of exercise every day for Sparkpeople as well. I'm so excited for it! I've decided in this time of the challenge that I will learn to belly dance. I've been wanting to learn for years, and this would be the perfect chance.
So, I know I made a long post out of a short period of time. It had to be done, trust me. My brain was going into overload with all this. for reading, and sorry if it seems a little scattered.

I've been looking into getting new exercise shoes, and I wanted some that would work for walking and strength training. The problem is that I'm extremely limited on money. I was looking at some shoes from the c9 Champion brand at target, and I came upon shoes categorized as interval shoes. I have no idea what interval shoes are, but would they work for what I'm looking at? And if shoes are categorized as activewear and running can they still be used for what I want for them?
