cabin video update

Monday, June 02, 2014

The upstairs was cleaned out very nicely by the wife and I did not get the video of that as no construction was done up there. The tank water is still contaminated by the dust n shavings from the fiberglass tank when we have been cutting it. Soon we will paint it and then run some tests on it but we are pretty positive it is great water! 60,000 gallons is the low end on the math of how many gallons it holds. To my closer fb pals : I am sorry for not being as active as I used to be and hope to be in a spot with reliable internet and time to visit more and encourage others like I enjoy. emoticon

The top and bottom of our driveway has a combined like 500 tons of 57 to larger size limestone. We are using shale now from the hill to cover the new flattened/built yard areas and it hardens up good is drained decent. I was muddy and is when it rains our soil is very clay almost perfect , large tile plants recently outsourced were shut dwn because so much clay in our area.
So it gets muddy easy.
The hill is 3/4 bricked we did by hand. It is holding up good.

I hope to move in by labor day at the latest probably soon as the
drywall is sanded and painted I will find a way to
get our new mattress emoticon
I work on the cabin 3 to 6 days a week and homeschool when we can but no other job until it is finished then I can undertake whatever at that time. posting on your page too Frosty

Did you haul in all the rock for your driveway? I thought I remembered it being muddy this winter?? You are moving right along getting the studs in for the walls. I guess soon it is going to be looking more and more like a real home. Do you have a target date yet to move in? Are you still working on other jobs or just concentrating on your cabin?
Glad to hear from you today and always love seeing how much progress you are making.

Updat video cabin 5 (22) 14

Saturday, May 24, 2014

My kids are starting to video and I managed to pick this one out,

it is a little rough so you may have to pause to see some things.

The entire sight is a mess and tools are strewn all about.

This next week my wife, nephew and 2 others along with myself and kids

plan on putting in a lot of work and cleaning.

I will try to post a better video soon to all my friends and family.

I do believe the scaffolding is about 26 or so feet high

for reference purposes. The front door is 4 and back is

3 feet wide respectively.

I bet you are so happy that the weather has finally gotten warm and (hopefully not too warm!) you are able to work steadily now. It has really progressed a lot since your last update. I imagine you are all getting anxious to get it done and get moved in.
Hope you get a little bit of a holiday this weekend.

CHRIS, WHAT A DIFFERENCE. IT ACTUALLY LOOKS BIGGER THAN I IMAGINED AND IS WHAT WE WOULD CALL A BIT OF A TARDIS, (TOO LONG A STORY TO EXPLAIN THAT ONE, UNLESS YOU ARE FAMILIAR WITH A BBC TV PROGRAMME CALLED DOCTOR WHO). IT BASICALLY MEANS THAT THE INSIDE LOOKS LARGER THAN THE OUTSIDE. IT IS REALLY CO0MING TOGETHER NOW AND SURELY IT WILL NOT BE TOO LONG BEFORE YOUR WIFE IS MEASURING FOR CURTAINS AND CARPETS AND LOOKING AT FURNITURE AND SO ON. YOU KNOW WHAT I AM SAYING, AS YOU THINK BUILIDING THIS IS THE EXPENSIVE BIT! LOL.

REALLY WELL DONE AND YOU WILL BOTH HAVE LEARNT A LOT OF SKILLS YOURSELF AND, AT THE SAME TIME, TAUGHT YOUR KIDS A LOT AS WELL, AND IF I MAY BE SO BOLD, I MIGHT SUGGEST YOU WILL HAVE LEARNT A LOT ABOUT YOURSELF AS YOU HAVE BEEN GOING ALONG.

REALLY IMPRESSIVE STUFF MY FRIEND. WELL DONE INDEED. YOUR FAMILY WILL BE SO PLEASED.

    Hi Chris,

From the bit I saw you have got a heck of a lot done since I last looked in. You will soon have this place fixed up and ready to move in. How much longer will it be do you think?

Thanks for dropping by my blog,. Always nice to hear from you. When are you going to post to the team again? I am having to keep up the male side single handed right now, lol.

Anyway, I do hope you and your family enjoyed a happy Easter holiday.

Take care my friend.

I have not given up

Thursday, March 20, 2014

I wanted to let all my buddies know I am still

working on my health and eating better.

Our huge front door weighs between 300 and 600 pounds.

Reinforced with steal and concrete.

The following pics are the door almost finished.

The door has been a big deal to me personally as it

had to fit for a castle and a regular cookie cutter door

was not going to cut it.
