24 Pounds WOW

As of today I've lost 24 pounds. 1 pound shy of 25 pounds. I've lost about 1/4 of the weight I want to lose on this new life style change. I'm proud of myself for sticking to the Atkins Diet. As a reward for losing 24 pounds I'm gonna buy and share a pizza with my husband. I just can't believe that I've lost all this weight. My husband actually gave me a compliment last week. It's made me smile. He always said that he loves me for me now matter what my size but I just wasn't comfortable in my own skin. I want to be in shape for me, my kids and look good for him. I've been tempted here or there but I've stuck to my guns! If I can do this, anyone can. Unfortunately my husband fell off the wagon after week 2 but he is still losing weight because he is drinking diet soda and he still eats what I put in front of him. God is good! emoticon

1st Month

Well, the first month of my new lifestyle is down. I've lost 14 pounds in my first month and I'm excited. I hope that I continue to lose weight and reach my goal. My first weight loss goal is go lose 20 pounds in the first 2 months. I have a good friend other then my husband who is being very supportive the the diet and follows up almost daily which is appreciated. Today I'm off to the doctors for 2 different doctors appointments. I have an appointment with my Neuro Ophthalmologist and I have an appointment with my Physical Rehab doctor because my shoulder has been bugging me a lot. I'm glad she was able to squeeze me in. My husband gets to take care of my children all day for me. It will be a nice break and I get to spend the day with a sister in Christ. emoticon

Well today hasn't started out great. My left shoulder is hurting me a lot today. It hurts to pick up my children. A couple months ago I had problems with my right sholder and I went to see the orthopedic guy and he gave me a shot and it's been fine since. I have a feeling that these shoulder issues are related to my stroke because I've read some articles about shoulder problems with Stroke Survivors. I think I'm going to wait a couple of days before making an appointment.

Back to the topic of my Atkins Diet. I am still making good progress on my diet. I have lost another pound since I last weighed in last Friday. I'm hoping for three pounds this week. If that is my final number I will have lost 15 pounds in my first month. I'm sticking to the diet and I don't feel tempted at all to cheat. My husband has fallen off the deep end though. I feel bad but I'm still encouraging him to get back on the diet. He said he needs one cheat day where he can eat whatever and then he will get back on the horse. I move forward. I don't want to cheat because I have my goal in mind. I have faith that he will get back on the diet soon.

Results Are a Good Shock

I lost 5 pounds this last week, I lost my first 10 pounds this week and I've lost a total of 13 pounds on my diet in three weeks. I'm so excited that this diet is working so well and that I'm actually losing weight. My first goal is to lose 20 pounds in the first two months. I'm well on my way to this goal and I couldn't be more happy. I have more energy and I don't feel run down all the time. I used to go to bed at 8:00 every night with my kids because I couldn't say awake and now I can stay up till 10:00 and spend some quality time with my husband. Oh yah, to all those who are not familiar with the Atkins Diet, I do still get carbs every day but we have a limit on how many carbs we can consume daily. emoticon

  


10 Pound Mark

The last couple of days on the Atkins diet have proven to be hard. I've had a hard time sticking to the diet because I just want to eat pizza, Chinese or sub sandwich. But I stuck to it in spite of it all and have reached my 1st 10 pounds. I'm excited because this is the most I've ever lost on a diet. I like to see results. I feel bad though because my husband hasn't lost anything in a couple of weeks. I want to be there for him and encourage him not to give up. I just want to continue to lose weight. I'm tired of being overweight and feeling blah all the time. This new diet makes me feel good and I don't feel tired all the time. I'm looking forward to losing more weight!! emoticon
