So, I just finished running W5D2 and let me tell you...it was NOT a piece of cake like W5D1 was this week. Ugh. I blame the sun for most of the difficulty, but I still made it the entire way without stopping. :) Two 8-min runs!! Woooohoooo! :D My next run is the dreaded 20-minute run, BUT I've done it before...I can do it again. :) Granted, the first time I did it I was inside on a track, but I'm almost positive that my first 23-min or 25-min run was outside in the sunshine. So bring it on!
I've recently got some new perspective on my life in general (mostly my career and future family plans and such) and I'm really feeling great. I'm just noticing that I'm more like the person I used to be when I was my cheerful, friendly, well...extra extra friendly, go-find-someone-that's-alone-and-be-their-
friend self. :) Haha, I think I've just found some HOPE again in where I'm headed. I don't feel stuck in my current situation so much anymore. Honestly, I could change it impulsively anytime (in other words, quit my job...), but I'm too much of a planner, too focused on security, and I know I'd hear it from my mom! ;) (I get it honestly, and I'm glad!) But this transition period (which is soooo difficult to be in when all I want is the next stage!) is so important to set myself up for that next stage. So I'm making the most of it. :) :)
As for nutrition and fitness...the fitness I've got covered with C25K again and a few walks during the week on my lunch breaks. (Lately thought I've been reading a GREAT book during my lunch break...when I'm done I'll let you know all about it!) Nutrition-wise, we're eating our veggies (most of them) from the CSA and TRYING our very best to limit eating out. (Too bad I'm craving some Moe's now....haha! But I won't do it! Gotta eat up my garlic scape pesto on some pastaaaaa!) But it's happened before and it's happening again...so many THINGS in my life are taking my focus away from this nutrition stuff. Haha. I KNOW everything I need to know, it's just a matter of....you know....going grocery shopping. Haha. :) Things will balance out.
Tomorrow is Matt's birthday! I'm taking him out (HA) to dinner at a Moroccan place. Neither of us have been there, but I have a good feeling it's going to be delicious! Plus, we'll be able to walk around town a bit afterward and maybe grab a drink. Yay!
Well, I'm off to go shower and make some dinner! :)

Just ran W4D2...and after my super rough D1, I'm happy to say that this run was AMAZING. Plus, during my last 5-min run, I timed my quarter mile and it was 2:37!!! That's 10:27 or so for a mile!!! I can't believe it! I'm extra pumped since last summer/fall my mile time was around 13 minutes. Yay! That goes to show that 1) eating right helps SO MUCH, 2) running straight-aways instead of turning all the time helps SO MUCH, 3) running when it's 75, cloudy, and about to thunderstorm instead of 90 and bright and sunny helps SO MUCH. Haha! :)

So, I think it's time for a blog post. Where to start...
I've disliked my job for sometime now. I won't get into too many details, just in case, but it's just not the place for me. Despite that though, I'm finding some peace and relief in the time I've been spending figuring out what I do want my future to look like eventually. I've recently decided not to go to grad school (at least at this point) because it's just not fitting into my future plans anymore. And that is okay! :) It's been really exciting talking to Matt and my friends and family about the possibilities and just thinking about and planning it all. It's still stressful everyday, and I'm still in a job that I don't love...but I know there's a light at the end of the tunnel now. And that makes a world of difference. (Also, for those that read my last post, I've nearly decided that if I get offered the job I interviewed for, I probably won't take it. Lots of thoughts on that one too... But I'm close to feeling like it's for the best.)
Summer makes me want to move and be outside. So I've started the Couch to 5K again. A friend of mine that lives in Michigan has started the program with me, so we're keeping each other accountable and encouraging each other along the way. My goal this time is to actually finish the program. It's a 9-week program, and I made it to week 8!! C'mon. Haha, so that's the goal this time. And I think if I'm smart about it, I can do it for sure! I've been trying to be intentional about finding shade this time (since I love running outside and I think treadmills are a cheat for me), and soon I hope to start running in the mornings before work so it's cooler. It just hasn't been bright enough for me yet! Also, most times when I'm finished with my run, I have been doing some circuit/weight training in my apartment. I started with a plan I found on Women's Health Magazine's website, and since then I've adapted it to include other things. It's been great!
If I'm going to talk about what my nutrition has looked like in the past couple of weeks, we can sum it up in two words: EATING OUT. And I've felt the effects. My runs have been so tough, my muscles so tight, strange stomachaches, lots of headaches. I know it's from stress (the life stuff) and from eating junk. Thankfully, Matt and I signed up for a CSA this summer and we got our first distribution last week! It's great! Tomorrow is my next pick-up! If you don't know what a CSA is, you should check it out and look for one in your area! It's a farm-share, so you pay in advance for fresh, local, organic produce from a farm, and for the whole season you get a distribution of various produce items every week! It's going to cut down on our grocery bill so much! Plus, Matt and I have already decided that we're going vegetarian (at home) for the season. So we've nearly eaten up all of the meat we had left in the freezer, and we're planning on only eating meat if we're at friends' or families' homes. Also, we're going to drastically cut down on our eating out!
So that's the sum up of where my life is at lately. My summer work hours are from 7:30-4, with a half-hour lunch. I don't like the shorter lunch time, but I looooove going home at 4! So it works itself out. That's just more sunlight for me to enjoy my day and take photos of my food. (P.S. I'm thinking about starting a food blog... :))
Thanks for those of you that have stuck with me, checked in, and kept on sending encouragement my way. :) I'll try to update more often!!

I needed a place to post this that my coworkers wouldn't see...
I've got an interview today! :D Crossing my fingers.....

It's been some time since I've blogged last. I seem to go in phases of IN IT and OUT OF IT with my health, unfortunately. We all have those excuses of "so much going on," but honestly, my life would probably seem less stressful and hectic if I was taking care of myself along the way. Eating right really does make your brain think clearly and your life feel less BLAH. I'm getting back to that.
I'm excited for this summer. I've been searching for an outdoor pool to swim laps at for a while, but nothing was showing up. There's even a pool very close by to my apartment that looks as though it's made to be a competition pool...but it runs on sponsorships. Thankfully, I just received an email this week saying that that pool would be having lap swimming memberships (as well as the normal summer pool pass). So yay! I'm planning on buying that and going for early morning swims. I'll have to channel my high school-aged self again to get up at 5am to get to the pool! But otherwise, if you call ahead, they might have a lap lane open during normal hours as well. Morning lap swimming is just 5-7am on M-F. I'll make it work. :) :) I've even ordered a couple of new practice suits from swimoutlet.com! Want to see them?! (P.S. The pictures are from swimoutlet.com, just so I keep things kosher on here.)
Plus they were suuuuper cheap. I'm just hoping they fit fine since I didn't try them on. I'm excited! :D
Also, this summer Matt and I have signed up for a CSA. I can't waaaaait to see what veggies we get each week!! Yay! And we've got lots of random plants growing in our apartment too...mostly basil, haha, which is fine by me! I'm going to be a pesto queen!!
I'm taking today and the next two days off from work. I'm thankful to have the time off. I'm spending today with my grandma and maybe my mom. Then later I might swing by to see my niece and nephew on my way back out of town. I'm not sure yet what I'm going to do tomorrow or Wednesday, but I'm sure as heck not going into work. :D ....I've been toying around with the idea of a food blog...maybe I'll start it tomorrow. :)
Okay, that's all from me for now. Gotta get ready to spend the day with Baba and eat some sushi at lunch! Mmm! Yes.
