I have not made a blog entry in more than a month. I have slipped on the pop thing. In the last month, I have had about 5 diet Cokes and a couple of diet mt. dews. I have worked out intermittently. Today is the first of March and I am committing to working out 20 days straight. We have snow and below freezing temps nearly every day since. Jan 5th. Our Christmas Tree is out on the curb for pick up and we have not seen it since Jan. 5th. It has been a rough winter.

Stayed home I'll today. Weird thing. Just really tired and had a miserable headache. Slept most of the day. Hope that I can sleep tonight. Still no soft drinks...sigh. Could use some bubbles. Thought that I would work out, but I didn't. Hope to feel better tomorrow.

1. No diet soda for 3 days. I am doing okay, but my husbande keeps leaving his empties around. It makes it tough to be strong. :)

2. Worked out at the gym yesterday and ran today. I only went 1 mile and walked some. I know that it was 0degrees out, but I did not realize that I had gotten that out of shape in such a short time. I was worried about the cold, but really it was no big deal. I am looking forward to trying again on Thursday.

1. At my last physical, the calcium in my blood was too high. I had tests for parathyroidism. The tests were inconclusive. Yesterday, I overheard that diet sodas leech calcium from your bones similiar to parathyroidism. I am an addict of the bubbles. I googled this fact and several articles indicated that diet soda leeches calcium. Of course, I know that the truth is not always found through Google. That being said, diet soda has no nutritional nor physical merits. Giving it up should have no negative effects....other than me having bubble withdrawals. 😊. Today is day one of giving up bubbles cold turkey. So far, so good. I only longingly gazed at the cans of diet Coke for a few seconds before moving on.

2. Have decided to run the 10K at the Riverbank. Today is the day of rest. Tomorrow will be cross-training. Tuesday will be a 2 mile run. And...I am off....
