numbers are moving down!

Wednesday, June 12, 2013

Started tracking my weight and for the first time in two years, started to track my morning blood sugar.

Both are down. Not majorly but down without too much stress or fuss. *yeah* me!! The last few days, I have had some cravings at night but I did not give in. Each time I resist, it seems to get easier. I know I won't always be able to be so strong but I take my victories one day at a time right now. Slow and Steady.

Time to kick in some excercises too. I think that will help improve those numbers as well. Certainly will not hurt.

In addition, I will be adding a bit of protein and apple cider vinegar at night. I've heard that this is good to help any re-bounding numbers at night as it gives some stablization to your system overnight. It'll be a test.

Wishing all a happy day!

Good for you!! Keep up the great work!! I always have some protein with all of my snacks. Start with the exercises slowly and up your time each day!!

I take cinnamon capsules twice a day and have heard about apple cider vinegar but have not tried it yet.

Keep us updated on your progress!! We are rooting for you!

#s coming done is a good thing! Way to go for seeing those #s decrease.

I would be interested to know how the apple cider vinegar works for you.

This is great. It is hard to be diabetic, but if we rule it and don't like it rule our life it is much easier. My numbers went down too, when I started sp, even cut my insulin. You are right, not only will exercise help with numbers ,and weight, it makes you feel better. And you will lose inches too. Have a good one. emoticon

back in the saddle again

Wednesday, June 05, 2013

Was on the wagon in a good way about 7-8 years ago. I was healthy. I managed my type 2 diabetes without medication. I slipped. I didn't care. I ate and drank what I wanted, when I wanted it. Once in a while I would watch myself. I did not test my sugar at all. About two years ago, I went to the doctor's. My average was near 9%. I tried to be good for a few months, enough to get a few months supply of drugs. Two diabetes meds and one blood pressure. I gave up again. Family, work woes, and mid life/empty nest blues. I did not care. But recently some positive changes have been happening in my life. Was on the wagon agin and immediately started to feel better, as I always do. While things are not perfect, hope is on the horizon and I want to make. It back to where I was all those years ago. Water! Veggies! Low carb! Lean meats! Whole grains! Less processed foods! More thought towards meal planning and overall nutriton. It wasn't a diet before. It isn't a diet now. It is mindful eating with purpose. I started slowly working my way back. Today is day 2. A little tough being at a job I don't like with so many temptations around but the day is almost done and I have hung on. My head is raised high and I am proud. I even excercised on break. Go me. Here's to a solid sparkstreak. If I can make it till Friday, I will feel more confident about other days ahead. One day at a time.
