Hey There

Tuesday, March 25, 2014

Hello Friends,
Not much news here.. Oh ,Yes there is . When the son and wife and their dog moved they left some problems.FLEAS! I have been trying to get rid of them using different things. Nothing worked so I hired a pest control who are coming tomorrow. So far it has cost me 400 dollars and too much stress. They tell me they will solve the problem. I sure hope so. My pug is going crazy. She has had a bath and flea med so that is to be done over too.I am allergic to the bites and that makes things for me worse.
The knee is better but still some pain.
O k this is my week . It has been raining very lightly and they say we will get cool weather.
I hope everyone is well.
Joanne

Hiring a professional should get rid of the flea problem. Hope you and your pet recover from the bites quickly.

OMG Joanne. At least you are getting rid of them now. Imagine what would have happened if they stayed there longer. The fleas were probably just feeding on them and their dog while they were there if you didn't know til now. What a nuisance: hmmmm do I mean the fleas or your son and family?????? emoticon emoticon emoticon

Hey There

Hello Friends,
I am still trying to get over knee replacement. Still having lots of pain although not as much. They tell me it will take time.. I do much of what needs to be done and the rest will just have to wait. With the two of us here things don't get too bad.
With a shove our son and his wife moved out. She had a problem keeping her hostile thoughts to herself. It is very quiet and peaceful now. Our utility bills are half. They gave us nothing. I love my son ,but, it was time and a half for him to go. He was out for 25 years and then they had to let their house go and the problems mounted. We are hoping for the best for them.
I was 81 this month. For awhile I felt 101. HA!
The weather here is great. Sunny ,no A C OR HEAT!
Have a good week.
Joanne

So glad that your son moved out and you have an empty nest now. The knees will gradually get easier to move and less painful,

Congratulations to the empty nesters. I am sure the peace that comes with it will also help you heal. At 81 you don't need the extra stress. HAPPY BIRTHDAY emoticon emoticon

Sorry you're still having knee pain. It will get better in time as long as you do your therapy. I wanted to punch (!) my therapist at times, but she was right to make me do it! Good to see your post. emoticon

Joanne, I'm really glad that you gave your nesting bird a shove out of the nest. It would have been grand had they been paying their way and had she been pleasant to be around but . . . it sounds like you and your husband are far better off being on your own!

I do hope your knee heals quick now and the pain goes away for good! I know I mentioned to you that my husband had one knee done and sailed through it but, that was 6 years ago and when he has his second knee done in a couple of months, it may be a different story. He is almost 83 so it may be more difficult to get through it.

I am happy that you and hubby are happy. Now if we can just speed up the healing of your knee!

Hey There

Wednesday, February 26, 2014

Hello friends.. I have been trying to get my blog page restarted and just was successful.
The surgery for a knee replacement was done on the 7th. I never expected this much pain. Pain meds help some but not entirely.
I have to be up and on my feet more than I should ,I guess. I don't have too much help. P T still coming for another 4 visits. Then I guess I am on my own. Just takes time.. I say the surgeon yesterday. he was happy with my progress. I wish I was..
I get relief at night.
Well American Idol is on tonight. I saw the beginning of Voice last night. I like the judges there.
Have a good week and keep prays coming my way..
Joanne

I agree with everyone, if you need help maybe you should ask for more PT sessions…as it would be difficult for you to get yourself to PT.

When I had my knee done, I had 6 weeks of regular PT…..

Good luck friend

Hope the pain lessens quickly. Keep doing your exercises - even after PT stops. They are so important.

Somebody ahead of me suggested you ask for more therapy. Good idea. I had a hip done and was in rehab for three weeks and then went twice a week for about six weeks. I had a knee done and was in rehab for four weeks and then went at least twice a week for about six weeks. Both times they wanted me to stay longer at the rehab center. I should have, I couldn't stand the food and lost some weight. If I ever have to go again, I am going to have my husband bring me Subway and Taco Bell. Every morning for breakfast they served well done scrambled eggs. I don't like eggs.
We are happy to see you back on Anyone over 70. I read your blogs even though you were not actively posting on the chat page.

Good to hear from you. Hopefully things will be getting better day by day. If you need more PT don't be afraid to ask. Try not to over do just because you think you are the only one. Hope your family is helping some. emoticon

I am so sorry that you are in pain! I had my hips replaced and had virtually no pain but they say that knees are much worse and longer healing time. Sending best wishes for a speedy recovery!
