I'm okay with this, though. I've been making pretty good choices, and I'm still under my max without w whole lot of effort. And February 3rd the new fitness/diet program from BeachBody comes out and I'm pretty excited. I loved the reset last year and was going to do it again - I still might, but not until AFTER I climb Fuji. :)

  


And a new year begins.

It's a big holiday here in Japan. We're headed to Yokohama to go ice skating. I've never seen my husband ice skate, and I don't think the kids ever have. I grew up in New England, ice skating on frozen ponds. I miss those days. I'm so in love with winter, even though I hate the havok it now wreaks on my old bones and skin. My resolution is LOVE, so I'm going to work on my skin. Hydration will help, so I'll start there. I'm already taking honey every day like medicine (this morning on my nonfat yogurt. OMGoodness the honey here is delicious.) Love is a verb, so I'm going to love today, cold weather and all!

But I'll push through. Kid #1 is seeing a nutritionist now; he's 5'5" 210 at 12 years old. I think a lot of it is depression and the fact that he's home all day and eats a lot when he's bored. But we're working on learning new foods and trying to get fitter as a family. El Jefe and I are staying on a decent track. We're not UNhealthy, we're just not being the nest example. We tend to be bare minimum type folks. So we'll see what this new year and a new outlook brings us. Much higher stakes now that it's not just me.

    Try to make exercising fun for him without him even realizing it that way it will become a healthy habit, join the Y together as a family. I think it's great your all in it together!

  need to get him to think positive about himself. need to set small goals that he can succeed at so that he will know that he can control his own life. need to get him into a exercise program.

    I love reading that you are working on your health as a family. It's the only way to go as far as I'm concerned. My husband was slender because he worked construction. The boys took after him in their build, but wait a minute. I was slender when I was younger. I only put on weight when I got pregnant and had a hard time getting it off after.

So, I say congrats to all of you. Keep up the great work.

Final Push for the term!

I just remembered that I have a 4-5 page term paper due Saturday by Midnight. It's Thursday after 9 PM now. Ahhhh! I need to get started. It's going to be a big school day Saturday!

Got some labs done today, and I'm relaly hoping that they point to a diagnosis. I really don't want to have to wait for weeks and then get a sleep study done. I'm hoping that the labs come back and show SOMETHING so I can get some relief. I'm so tired of being tired!
