It's great that learning to de-stress is one of your goals - that will be so important with schoolwork. Find something that works for you and make time for it - it will help you to not become overwhelmed plus it should help you to be able to have the mental power to get the schoolwork done.

These are great goals! They're realistic given what looks like a heavy work/study/homelife load. I LOVE that not all your goals are fitness related - they relate to mental and emotional wellness as well! Sometimes, people can forget that busting stress is a big part of being healthy, too!

Good luck in the challenge!

Last week of challenge

Monday, July 29, 2013

Todays challenge is to write a recap for our fitness challenge for my team The Meltaways.

How did I do? Well,
I have lost 6 pounds.
I eat more fruits and vegetables.
I work to reach my 10,000 steps everyday!
I make sure to enter my calories in each day, no matter if I go over.

To me... that's progress! So I would rate this a success!!!

I haven't been losing as much as I wanted but, I haven't been working out like I said I would. If I were to change anything, I would workout 6 days a week (one of my goals).

For the future:
I would like to keep up the progress I have made. I want to keep up losing 2 pounds a week. Eating more fresh fruits and vegetables. Adding more fiber to my diet, while trying to up my protein intake.

We shall see!

Thursday!

Thursday, June 27, 2013

Life is good. Vacation is almost here. It's pretty much all I can think about... And I am down to the weight I was last year when I went... So at least I met that goal! Yay!!!

I, like many, read lots of blogs and health information. And for the first time yesterday, I knew that they were right. One in particular stuck out to me: successful weigh loss individuals make small goals. Hmm... Now I know that sounds obvious but for a lot of people. We focus on the total number. For me, I have been focusing on 2 pounds a week. And it's working!!!!

Another motivating factor, those who have had kids can understand. How long has it been since you gained the "baby weight"? And is it still considered "baby weight" after 6 years? I don't know the answer to that. But I do know that my little girl turns 6 soon and that means I have been 'overweight' for almost 7 years.... Never thought I would say that!!! So little goals is what I am sticking with. They have been working and I will succeed!

Little goals:

1. 2 pounds a week
2. Stay within calorie range
3. Eat 5 fruits/veggies a day
4. Drink 10+ cups a water a day
5. Maintain during vacation

So onward we go! Let's do this!! emoticon

Rain again

Wednesday, June 12, 2013

Finally!!! Today we had sunshine! After raining for close to a week, I got to see the sun for about 15 minutes! I spent that time talking to a friend about SparkPeople. She is looking for encouragement to lose weight. I told her, there's no better place than here! I'm hoping she joins.

As I write this, I hear rain on the roof again! emoticon We just can't win around here. My poor garden has been saturated for days now... Come on sunshine! Plus the hot air balloons are in town this weekend and the forecast is calling for rain. Bummer......

I am just under 2 weeks away from going on vacation... I can't wait. My plan is to sit on the beach and relax... Jump in the waves, maybe go boogie boarding.... Who knows. I know my number one goal will be to continue working out!

I ordered my Fitbit today. Hoping to start counting my steps soon. I hear that people grossly underestimate their steps per day so, I'm hoping to increase mine.

Not much going on today! Hopefully tomorrow!!!!
