Easy Turkey meal for family....

emoticon Early turkey dinner with family....
I am doing this the easy way since my kitchen is not yet moved in/out. Did get the dining room ready with help of sons getting a china cabinet up. And granddaughter opening boxes and filing it. Great grand son had us chuckling as he spotted a "coin" in amongst all the stuff and mess. A penney went into his bank.

We went by GFS after Dh's P.T. session. I got ready made cole slaw; sweet potato casserole, rolls, frozen lemon and a key lime pie, mashed potatoes, and a veggie platter. So all is ready to heat/cook./serve. And I'm doing a green bean dish.

BUT the turkey. I ordered a large fresh one from the famous meat market here. Well, I started in on it when I got home and the neck is frozen in. Now I paid the higher price, so i called and it was an "error". Kinda disappoint since I had faith in this market....as opposed to China meats. I am to retun the receipt and the label of Amish Fresh turkey fo a refund. emoticon What a turkey that purchase was.

emoticon Tomorrow 12 family ae to come.....some have to come early as 2 teens have school banquets...one for marching band....one for sports cross county. 1 famiy is coming late . I've picked a meal time and will seve at noon exactly. Hope that accomodates.

emoticon Hardest thing to figure is grandkids drinks....some milk, other juice, other health dink, cola, etc. We never thought of choices. Think it'll be milk or water.

    Milk for all is an issue in my family. Some drink cow milk, real and skim;some drink soy milk, natural or vanilla; some drink almond milk and some coconut milk (normally in smoothies. I have a lot of left over "milk" after family gatherings.

    I admire all the effort you've put into this. I'm sure it will be a wonderful get together for the family even working around the activities.

I've got it really easy. Just bring my broccoli cheese casserole to my daughter's in-laws for dinner. LOL

My November Journey....

Nov. Journey..... emoticon
1. Continue eliminating and storing from our summer move.
2. Walk outside as often as possible to enjoy the fall weather.
3. Stay home with DH as he has glitches in health.
4. Use fall produce as often as I can.
5. Get some audio books as reading is harder and we have a swell library.
6. Do all I can with and for family.

emoticon Hi Spark Friends. Yes, i have been a slug on here. But several people have sent me goodies. And that has Sparked my participation. Of course I am still overeating and overweight. I lost 2 pound and feel the desire to go on. I am in the obese category.

I've been spending my time taking DH to Dr. appointments. They eat up the day. I so want to get the fat off and be more healthy so I can avoid the med circuit in my life. emoticon \\ emoticon everyone who has encouraged me. emoticon

    The nice thing about Spark is that it's always here waiting for us to get back on track.

Avoiding the med circuit is one of the best goals to have. It's so ironic how a drug is advertised on TV with side effects glossed over quickly. Then another ad by a law firm advises that if you took that drug and experienced the serious side effects, call them so you can sue. A vicious circle.

emoticon I am still trying to thread my way through SP since many of the changes some time back. I like many of them.
emoticon Love the way leaders can give goodies without having to spend some much time taken away from personal life. Love the email set up in ABC order to send out. What do you really like?

emoticon I still am finding the nutrition tracking to be so difficult as in time consuming......What hints to make it simpler?

I haven't gotten emails for months. I do find it interesting that many of the young folks, tech savy and career people are using their phones for Spark and not on computer so less on teams.

I don't know what a glow getter award is?

    I've not used the nutrition tracker in a while, but I used to 'bundle' my typical meals so I could enter them with a single stroke - assume it's still available and you could do the same?

    Tracking the old slow way allows me time to "consider" what I have eaten and why. I need the reminders lately.

    I'm lazy and eat the same things for breakfast, lunch and snacks M-F so I just copy my foods. Every week I choose a different grouping combination. I Spark every morning for 20 minutes: log food, activity, other goals, food, post on team walls (6 teams), and read/respond to a minimum of 5 blogs. It's my favorite way to start my day. Keep Sparking--it gets easier.

    I use the "recent" feature on the nutrition tracker. It helps that I eat mostly the same foods each day except for dinner. Dinner choices are in my "favorites" list.

It takes me only a few minutes and a few clicks to get it done.
I do it in the morning to plan and then edit at night to see what I actually did.
