January was amazing but I'm now looking forward to February

I had a great January posted highs in miles, minutes and calories burned at the gym. I lost 11 pounds which is a great start to a long, life changing journey. I know there is more work to do. I started this month 239.5 and ended it 227.5. My goal weight is around 190. I do not expect to lose 11 pounds next month. I want to just keep consistently working out and making better food choices. If I do those two things the results will come. I have great friends and family who are so supportive of me and my achievements no matter how small.

I have helped and would love to help others on their journey. I love talking about fitness and nutrition and I keep learning new things about both even after being on this site for five years now. We never stop learning. No matter how much you weight you can do things to help make your life healthier. Small steps do lead to bigger ones. People love to talk about getting in shape but it takes much more to actually accomplish it. Hard work and commitment are both very important parts of the equation. Without both you are going to fail. I have lost the weight before I know I can do it again. It may take longer this time around but I plan on keeping the weight off.

Each day is an opportunity to do something amazing. The choice is yours. You can join me on this mission and enjoy the many benefits or you can continue to talk about how you want to lose weight and be healthier.

68 minutes, 4 miles and 528 calories burned. This has been a really good month in comparison with the rest of the year. I have more miles, minutes and calories burned than any other month. I feel like I'm working towards something which is an amazing feeling. I want to keep going and continue to get in shape. I'm starting to be more aware of what I'm eating. It's a huge step which should lead to me feeling better and losing some excess weight. I know it's a big mountain to climb but I want to climb it each and every day. I feel like I had given up on myself but now I want to make up for lost time. I know what it takes and I have conquered this once before.

    Yeah that is so true. I try not dwell on the bad days. It's a learning experience and I continue to learn as I go even though this is my second time around.

    I feel you on this one! Back in 2004 I lost almost 50lbs and I felt great, but for me I was losing for all of the wrong reasons. Now that I am in my 30's and have a great sense of who I am and what I want out of life, the journey has begun again.

I, too, am trying to be more aware of what I am eating. Not an easy task for me. I am a compulsive overeater, and sometimes the food overwhelms me. Just remember that each day is new. If you have a rough day, make tomorrow a better one!

A New Year A New Beginning

It's ten days in and I still need to remain focused. I know I can lose the weight and get healthy because I already have done it once before. This time I must learn how to maintain a healthy lifestyle. It's a day to day process with many twists and turns. My first week came and went and I didn't lose even an ounce. It's frustrating but I know what things I could do better. I think this week will be much better. Looking good and feeling good is my ultimate goal. I felt great at 195 and I would love to be that weight again. Of course I will keep everyone posted.

    Hang in there! I have been stuck at the same weight for months now. I know what I need to do but sometimes doing it is just really hard.

Working Hard

I have been working out about five days a week and I have been seeing the results. I'm down 7 pounds in two weeks!! I running/jogging 4 miles a day and doing 125 crunches per day. In Addition, I do about 60 bicep curls with 20 pound weights. I'm starting to feel my energy level rise.

I want to get down to 195 by early next year sometime. I am 30 pounds away from my goal. This is a long journey but even with the ups and downs I know I am doing the right things.

Back on the Wagon...

So I started Spark people in 2007 and the results were amazing. I lost 70 pounds in 8 months!! I went from 263 pounds all the way down to 190. Then over the past two years, I have been slowly but surely gaining the weight back. I have gone from 190 back to over 232 pounds. I stopped doing the things that helped me lose weight in the first place.

Now I'm currently 228 and I'm starting to eat healthier and I have been working out 4 or 5 times a week. I have more energy and my body is starting to respond positively. Weight loss is a journey and something that needs to be kept up with. I know I can do it since I have done it before. My goal is 195 and I believe I will accomplish that by next year sometime. I have learned that if you stop doing the right things that your body and the scale will remind you. emoticon

    I did not even last that long. I lost about 20 pounds before summer, then when my kids were home all summer and things lost structure around here my eating and exercise fell through the cracks. I am really wanting to get back on track. The sad this is I know exactly what I need to do, but the motivation is lacking. Ugh! I need to lose about 70 more pounds to get to a healthy BMI and it seems soooo overwhelming. Good luck on your journey.
