How often have you wished you could find something to help you with your "stick-to-it-ness"? Have you found that you LOVE Sparkpeople, but have just hit a lull and need a little extra something?

This 10 week challenge places you on a team with approx. 30 other members who are all working toward the same goal - to be accountable, get and give support, learn some nutrition tips, and build friendships! By setting a 10 week goal, and weighing in each week, you make a COMMITMENT to yourself to DO something.

Make sure to read the rules, they aren't too heavy, but we DO expect a commitment.

New Year ~ New Challenge ~ New Outlook~

2013 is coming to an end... It has been an EYE opening year full of amazing things.

My family is wonderful! We have had a trying year yet together we have made it through. Things are not 'perfect', but they are improving daily.

I was blessed to meet up with 2 Spark friends, that I Love dearly! Our week together went way too fast, we need to do it again!



I found what is working for ME just after our Seattle trip in September, a combo of a supportive group, T25, increased fitness, and last but not least determination!

Although I have a hubby that is very supportive I realize that Spark and the interaction with others, the chat, the accountability, the ability to log in and say Help are what I need ~ so...

Along with two good friends we pooled our collective experience and created a new challenge for 2014 that looks "BEYOND THE SCALE." While we will still weigh in weekly for accountability we want to focus on healthy living as a lifestyle - encouraging good nutrition, fitness and general wellness. As we apply these principles weight loss will follow.

We recognize that the encouragement and inspiration of others is essential to keep our motivation high so we will interact in teams but each person is on an individual journey, not competing in a race on the scale. Our victory moments will differ but what is essential is stepping ever closer to "Health & Fitness".

Our first quarter begins in early January. We are looking for like-minded individuals that wish to make progress in an interactive environment. This isn't a weight loss competition, it's a lifestyle change. (message me if interested)

    It sounds very interesting. I need something and someone to help and keep me motivated. I know what I need to do and how to do it but staying motivated is almost more than I can do. I don't really have support and have been looking for it and haven't really found it yet. I do know I want this to be a life changing thing not just a diet. If you think this would be a good thing I would love to know more.

    I know I need to change up what I'm doing. I just can't seem to get motivated or my will power up to do it. I don't track food except to write it down on paper to keep track of WHAT I eat a day.
What all would the team include? I'll spmail you.

    As you know I've been urging a more holistic, less scale obsessed viewpoint for a long time. I was thin until I gave up smoking in my 30's, and I can state catagorically that thin people do NOT focus on the scale, or what they eat. In fact they don't really think of food at all unless they're hungry. So I think that's a very good healthy perspective, and I'm with you all the way.

November Goals/ Recap

On Oct. 24th I posted the following Goals (will note beside how I did):

Here is my plan for SEVEN days! ( some borrowed from Pinkhope)

1) Limit my calories from sugar. emoticon
2) Eat a minimum of three servings of vegetables a day. emoticon
3) Push play, T25 every weekday! emoticon
4) Do log 10,000+ steps daily. It is so easy to do T25 and say 'but I did my workout'. emoticon
5) Work on stress level. I allow things to 'weigh me down'. emoticon
6) Continue to be active and sit less during the day. emoticon
7) Continue to push water intake. 10+ glasses daily. No soda, limit coffee. emoticon

Not bad! #5 was not achieved but FOOD was not my answer to it either!

November Goals are much the same as Above.
** indicates an added part :)

1) Limit my calories from sugar.

**And 2 Fruit**
3) Push play, T25 every weekday!
**Check in with Karlie and Sandra, my T25 buddies! **
4) Do log 10,000+ steps daily. It is so easy to do T25 and say 'but I did my workout'.
**12,000 3 + days a week**
5) Work on stress level. I allow things to 'weigh me down'.
**Looking into metitation. Doctors on the 4th to discuss options. **
6) Continue to be active and sit less during the day.
7) Continue to push water intake. 10+ glasses daily. No soda, limit coffee.
** 8) Close the Kitchen after Dinner**
** 9) Give Thanks daily for things *I* do have. **

    Great November goals and GREAT job on your October goals!! I'd say not turning to food because of stress IS a win - maybe even a bonus win!! Sometimes its just not possible to avoid stress - but you avoided one of its worse 'possible' side effects!! emoticon emoticon

Week plan!

I weigh in daily, but use Wednesday as my official week to week weight, and have for 5 years (since I joined BLC. ) this past week I posted a pound lost, in order to post another loss next week I need a plan!

Here is my plan for SEVEN days! ( some borrowed from Pinkhope)

3) Push play, T25 every weekday!
4) Do log 10,000+ steps daily. It is so easy to do T25 and say 'but I did my workout'.

6) Continue to be active and sit less during the day.
7) Continue to push water intake. 10+ glasses daily. No soda, limit coffee.

I am close to the 180's and this plan will help me get there!

    A new report out says that caffeine is good for you, up to three cups a day. Apparently caffeine users have a much lower suicide rate than non caffeine users! So don't limit it too much.
